Ta Da! Kitchen Reveal

Well, some of you have been patiently waiting to see our new kitchen.  We are so pleased, we love showing it off.  It has been a rough year......battling two cancers, surgeries,  radiation, a premature puppy and a kitchen remodel.  I am so glad to have this behind me.  I see the Endocrinologist Dec. 11.  I hope to get the right dosage for my hormones. After that a pet scan to make sure all of the cancer is gone.
Thank you all for being so supportive.

Here's the before: It was a very pretty kitchen.  We just needed more room so we added on.
 After

The back splash needs to be done and the window needs trim.
The granite is called River Bordeaux

The flutes are additional storage.  We ordered ring pulls to open them. They hold up to 450 lbs each.

Copper sink ordered from Ebay.  We love this sink!
The barley twist legs are also pull-outs.
One cannot have enough storage.

Microwave with drawer beneath and barrel ceiling display.
We have a matching barrel ceiling display  on the top of the double ovens.

Two sky lights were added  with remote controls.  The famous chandelier.....Adds some bling to the kitchen.

Double ovens

Grape corbels

A display case to change out seasonal decor.

The back splash will be a travertine 4x4 on the bottom with a bronze liner, similar to the picture below.. We might use the 6x6 tiles above that with the bronze Fleur de lis.
Where the small travertine tiles are, we will use glass tiles
for some bling.
This is called ice crackle glass tile in brown. We will do the entire window wall in the glass tiles with a bronze trim around the window.  It will tie in with the sink and knobs.

Accent deco tile
Here's a look from the family room.

I hope you enjoyed looking at our new kitchen.  We love it.
Here's a photo of the snow we recently got. It was 24 degrees last night. So much for sunny California.

Stay warm and cozy.  xoxo

  13. I AM SO THRILLED LINDA! Everything is just stunning, and I am all for a chandelier in the kitchen! We have one, and I love it, and so does my husband! The woodwork is exquisite and the extra room and storage will be greatly used.

I am praying for you that all goes well and that you get a great report on your scan. And you're in California and IT SNOWED? I grew up in Los Angeles and it never, ever snowed there....I hope you're in the northern part because if it snowed in Southern Ca., that is too weird!

    LOVELY ACCOMPLISHMENTS MY FRIEND! Anita

  22. You truly do have exquisite taste, Linda. It's all come together so beautifully! I love that you have so many spaces to display your beautiful things. The kitchen compliments your dining room perfectly too. Someday, I want to visit and share a glass of wine in that beautiful room and you can show me every exquisite detail. Love you, Wonder Woman - you SO deserve this!

  23. I love every inch of it! Question about your sink? I also have a copper sink, the interior of mine is really "stained" Have you heard of waxing the sink?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Hi Jackie, yes, you can wax it. There are several things you can do to make your copper sink shiny again.
Run some water and use very fine sand paper. Keep the water running, while you do this.

And what a great gathering space since we all know that's where the guests always end up congregating!!! :-) I think the flutes are my favorite part! What terrific and convenient storage!!! And boy, oh boy, what I would do to have double ovens!!!! And that copper sink is the cat's pajamas!!!!!!!! You did a really great job with this, and I'm just hoping it all helped to ease some of the pain and anxiety for you as you went through your horrible health ordeal. Hope all went well at the endocrinologist yesterday, too. Take care, congratulations, and have a beautiful weekend!

  33. Just catching up on your posts - I haven't been around alot the past few weeks. Your kitchen looks gorgeous! I see you did go with the WOLF cooktop - I bet you LOVE it!! The skylights and the lights you chose look magnificent.

Hope you're feeling better and the endocrinologist report was good. Gonna go check your next post up.

Our 4 1/2 yr old Benny, our Havanese Pup, got severly ill - he developed neurological problems and lived only 6 hours after - when we had to put him to sleep. It was all so fast...and so sad.

    Merry Christmas!

    Hugs,
    Jan ♥
