We have had lots of rain lately, so I am happy things are green and pretty. The birds are all happy and singing. We keep the feeders full, so the birds enjoy seed in their diet.
Lovely roses sit at the bottom of the pathway. I love this winding path to the pool. Sometimes it can be a workout. The Trumpet vines are getting ready to bloom soon.
When I look at all of this beauty, it reminds me of how the yard looked like years ago.
A dirt hillside...nothing.
I was trimming all of this today. The society Garlic has pretty purple flowers when it blooms.
Love seeing our boxwood hedge all sculpted. We have many shrubs we sculpt. Rosemary, Spiraea, and Boxwood.
The hillside of St. John's Wort is getting ready to bloom. As I have said before, it was good therapy for me when I planted each little plant after my first surgery.
This view is the palapa and outdoor kitchen. I am standing in the sand volleyball court to get this shot. Cleaning, trimming and bringing out the outdoor furniture. Now, if I could only sit still long enough to enjoy it all. We just had our Homeowner's meeting at our home last weekend, so it was important to tweak our yard and get it ready for summer. Memorial Day weekend will soon be upon us.
I am happily joining Thoughts of Home and Share Your cup for A Garden party

ReplyDeleteI just was writing a lovely comment and poof it is gone. I love your beautiful gardens that you have created. Take time to sit and drink in all of its beauty. We are getting more rain as that is the pattern we have been in for several weeks. The plants are happy, so I should be as well. Have a great day! ♥

ReplyDeleteYou have created such beauty from that brown dirt! We love feeding the birds too and this time of year they sure eat a lot from the feeders.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference from when you had bare hills...amazing how beautiful it your "yard" is, Linda.
ReplyDeleteYou must have had some rain to have everything so lush. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous! You must stay in great shape working outdoors! Everything is so lush and colorful Linda. Love your grounds. Sheila
ReplyDeleteGood evening Linda! Looking at your BEFORE photo is remarkable. All this lush beauty grew into place, and now you are enjoying it as WE TOO are enjoying such lush green after 19 years of planning, buying, planting, pulling out, starting all over again. How your roses enchant, how your hedges give off such formal loveliness!
ReplyDeleteGOod morning Linda! Thank you for visiting my blog! Aren't those lilacs just fabulous? Many hugs and wishes to you for a magical day!
ReplyDeleteI'm exhausted just reading about all the work you've done, Linda! I am SO glad you are strong & healthy again & able to enjoy your gorgeous home & outdoors. It truly looks like paradise!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gardens, Linda. Perfect for all the upcoming celebrations! Take care, Maria
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty. I'd love more covered areas outside on our farm but the wind is brutal. We still have tons of rain. I'm ready for it to dry up or at the very least spread the rain out a little bit each week.
ReplyDeleteWhen can we book our holiday? We'll take the guest room with the best view, lol. Everything looks absolutely gorgeous, Linda, and what a beautiful landscape you have created. I want to just pour us some wine while you take me on a tour and then dive into the pool! Then we could have fun cooking in your outdoor kitchen. Hmmm...I need to pack my bags!
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you shared the before photo of your property and I am in awe of the transformation.
In my minds eye I assumed your grounds were already lush and full. Look at what you have accomplished! It is a stunning oasis.
I can see why planting each little St. Johns Wort was therapy for you and it has grown into a cascading hillside beauty!
So thankful you are well and that your gardens are thriving like you:)

Northern California got April showers, but the rain stopped short of Ventura. I wish my garden was as lush as yours.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the before photo - what a fabulous oasis you created!
Linda, the before and after is amazing! That's a true testament to your hard work and vision. I love the long sidewalk and the trumpet vine. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a picture of your home before all the landscape was added. It certainly was barren looking compared to now! This has been a labor of love that's for sure! When you planted the St.John's Wart I doubt you could have imagined how it would fill out and spread over the years. You created a Memory Garden. Everything is so lush and beautiful. Love how large all your roses get. Your pool area is so inviting. Time to party!
ReplyDeleteLinda- you have done an amazing transformation in a relatively short amout of time!
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear the story!
Your gardens and paths are both stately and inviting .
You are a master gardener my friend!
OMG what a transformation. The property is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blooms and I adore your palapa. Thank you for being a lovely flower that joined our garden party.
