Tablescape With Tulips for Mom

Mother's day is a  very special day to honor and appreciate our Mother.  I know some of you, no longer have your Mother in your life. I feel  for  you, knowing how much you miss your Mom. I  know your Mothers would be so proud of you.

My Mother is so fun and creative!  She loves to craft, sew and work in her garden. We recently went shopping at Green Acres and we  saw some cute fairy gardens. My Mom had never seen a fairy garden.  She was quite taken with the miniature little fairy gardens. For Mother's day, my husband & I bought her some pieces, so she can start her very own fairy garden.

She called me last night and was excited she found more pieces at Big Lots. She is trying to decide on a container to start the fairy garden.  At first she was going to create one by the tree in her background, however I think she may use a container. I snapped a quick picture of the fairy garden at Green Acres.

Liz, from Infuse With Liz was recently recognized for her fairy garden. Here's the link:
She was published in her local magazine.

I am taking my Mother to brunch tomorrow for Mother's day.  My husband was going to join us, however he will  be visiting a dear neighbor who is on hospice.  His wife wanted to spend Mother's day with her kids, so my husband is  sitting with our neighbor, John.

I set this pretty table in our breakfast room with red tulips as the centerpiece. I am using our red poppy dishware, I got from my brother Randy years ago.

Red flatware goes nicely with these colors. I added a frilly placemat under the vase.

Twin topiaries sit in urns on the serving cart, along with the candles that are battery operated.

Have a beautiful Mother's day. I hope you all have a relaxing and pampering day.  XO
Don't forget tomorrow is Dishing It & Digging It link party at 4:00 EST.

  3. How thoughtful of you to start your mom off with making a fairy garden! I know your mom will enjoy putting hers together. I had a fairy garden at my old home. Many years ago, I bought a fairy door to place on the trunk of a tree in my back yard and really enjoyed creating a fairy theme around the door. They've become very trendy now. Hope you have a lovely Mother's Day, Linda!

  20. Hi Linda- thank ou for the shout out about my Fairy Gardens! I'm so glad you and your mom got to bond over this. It is fun- and there are so many options. Bird baths make a great place for a fairy garden too if it's going to be outside. I see where you got your good looks from! She's pretty and slim like you! Your table is beautiful- love those tulips! I hope you have had a wonderful Mother's Day. Sorry to hear your neighbor is not doing so well- that's so kind of Paul to stay with him.
