looked like garage cabinets...ick!
Ok, here is the change...........
We love the Travertine. We wondered why we didn't put it in sooner. What a difference! The kitchen cabinets are Kraftmaid.
My husband & I installed the backsplash ourselves. We used 4x4 tumbled travertine...scabas. We added larger copper grapes for an accent.
This is the view from our kitchen window.....
Notice my red pots? My Kitchenaid mixer and my tea kettle.
I love this glass. it's cathedral......Kraftmaid.....
We keep our pots and pans in these drawers.....
I just love the details on our cabinets. We went in and out and up and down with decorative molding and trims.
My new cannisters are from JCP...Chris madden again....
sinkbase
We had our refrigerator covered in skin and drawer panels.

What a beautiful kitchen! What a difference a wife makes ;). I love the tile, the glass door, lighting, heights of the tops, 'fridge door. I'd better quit gushing, you get the idea.
ReplyDeleteI love "before" and "afters" and this was one fantastic makeover! It really warmed and cozied up the whole space. I truly think knocking out walls wasn't necessary. IMHO, you have the PERFECT size kitchen...not too big, not too small, and it appears you have lots of great cabinet space. Love the molding details! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteHi L,

ReplyDeleteWow- what a change beautiful cabinets, granite, and marble made to this room! It is wonderful, Linda. The kitchen in our house in definitely on the list for improvement, but the baths have to get done first. Love all the tile you had done in the entry, too. It totally changed the look! It is all so much warmer. And your view out the window is positively gorgeous- lucky you to be able to have great CA weather.

ReplyDeleteIt's as if you just did a magical overhaul. From boring to inspiring - that's splendid work indeed. I dare say that homeowners can learn a thing or two about you as far as transforming and remodeling are concerned. What you did here was more than just a facelift - this is a kitchen rebirth. Marvelous.
ReplyDeleteGood day Linda.
ReplyDeleteI love how you have enclosed your fridge. I also have kraftmate cabines in a natural. Not something I would have selected; I would have went with the ivory colored cabinets. How did you go about having the fridge done. I have stainless with double doors and the freeze is a pull out draw on the bottom. I just love your home, it's georgous.
Hi Linda.

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog on your kitchen remodel. Beautiful!! I am so curious about your refrigerator. Could you please tell me how you had the panels made/installed? I just had a GE built-in removed (it was the only one available to compare with a Sub-Zero 14 years ago--what a nightmare--another story)...I would love to have wood panels on my stainless that is so hard to keep clean. Would love to hear from you.
Thanks
Maureen
