Palapa Ornament?

Just a quick post to show a picture of this wonderful bird hanging around our property. It has been here for about 2 weeks. We came home one day to find it on top of our Palapa.
A Palapa is a thatch covered pavilion, you usually find in Mexico.

I love this! isn't nature wonderful? Enjoy!

Is that an egret? I think they are comical looking for some reason...something about the expression! Great shot!

It took me a bit to realize he's sitting on the roof of your "palapa"
I assume it's a heron or egret?
