Bird theme Bridal Shower

I have mentioned in previous posts the Wedding I am assisting my cousin Debbie. The Bridal shower was this past Saturday, so I wanted to show you the pictures.  It's a Bird theme, therefore I used most of my bird displays. The Bride's colors are green, yellow and orange. My cousin Debbie has a beautiful home.
I also mentioned the Lollipop trees my husband made for the wedding candy buffet.

We have 2 of these, one for each side of the candy buffet.
The pots are yellow and I added green lollipops, yellow lollipops and orange.
We used wooden dowels from home Depot for the branches.
My husband drilled holes into the larger main branch for the 4 smaller branches to sit in.  He glued them into the slots.
I painted the tree with Rustoleum  multi-colored brown.
My husband let it all dry and then he drilled smaller holes for the 2" lollipops to sit in.  Some up and some down.  In between he drilled smaller holes for the green spearmint gum drop leaves.  We used a larger lollipop for the top and added a bow.

The menu I designed for the party.
Here is the table all set up before we set the food out.

Obviously the food is there now......LOL  I used alot of my Pier 1 mini glasses for tastings.
Mango Shrimp and mini crab cakes in Chinese spoons.

Deviled eggs....I made them fancy with my decorator tube.
We worked hard on all of this.

We made Salad on a stick....Caprese Salad...We sprayed them with some Balsamic Salad dressing.

I created all of the labels on my pc and used photos clips from Ross to hold the food labels.  They come in all different shapes and styles.

Here's  my Bird tiered stand I used for the tasting glasses.

Shrimp with Mango Salsa.

Sweet and Sour meatballs are in my chafing dish.
I also made Barbecued Pulled Pork Sliders on mini buns with Coleslaw.
I designed the plates online at Hallmark.com.
I customized them with the Bride-to-be colors and 2 birds.

We set up the desert table in her formal Dining room.  I set up my chocolate fountain on a pedestal.
I like to elevate it.  I used a large kitchen pot, turned it upside down.  I than added a tablecloth over it to cover the pot.
I brought along my round table glass cover for space around the fountain.  I than added a yellow flower wreath and my cousin put the green tulle around the chocolate fountain to cover the red.

We added fresh strawberries on skewers, along with marshmellow and wafers.

Here's the cake.  My cousin used one of her daughter's friends to create the cake.
She gave her free reign and she came up with this design.  The only thing she told her, was to use the colors and make a 2 tiered cake.  The flowers are sugar.

A close-up of the Bird cake stand.

Oreo truffles we made with the Bride-to-be colors.
Mint Oreos, Peanut Butter and Chocolate.

This is Kristina, the future Bride cutting her cake.

Debbie sent her husband, Tony off to purchase these beautiful roses.

One of the centerpiece I created with Curly Willow and branches with lights.  I use  Orange Aqua Gems inside the vase, added flowers, a bird nest and  a bird with eggs.
The finishing touch is pearl beads from Michaels.
I bought the vase from Save-on-Crafts.

Party favors, including the Love birds salt and pepper shaker, my cousin Debbie purchased.

Here's a fun party pic.....
Kristina playing the plunger, toilet paper game.

Kristina received some wonderful gifts....Here's a sexy one.

All in all, it all went well and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Thank you for visiting as always...

  9. Oh, what FUN!!!! Thanks for giving me a heads up! This is great! You guys really worked hard! Give your husband a big ol' high five from me for that lollipop tree! Man...that really took some precision and forethought! Everything looks fantastic inlcuding the dessert buffet (I don't like chocolate, but that fountain makes me WANT to!), the food buffet....everything! I love the bird stands!!!!! The Caprese salad on a stick is a great idea!!! I will definitely have to use that idea in the future! Your Pier 1 stuff really came in handy for food display, too! It looks like everyone had a great time. I have never played the plunger and toilet paper game, but from the photo I gather it is absolutely hilarious!!! I might have to do that on Thanksgiving just to get my family laughing! Have a great weekend, and thank you again for giving me a heads up that the photos were up!
