Well, the big day finally arrived and I am showing off the photos.
The wedding theme is birds. The colors are green, yellow and orange. As I said in an earlier post, I came up with the bird centerpieces for the tables. I cut curly willow from our tree and arrange them in a tall glass flared vase. I added the lighted branches for a nice effect at night-time. Inside, orange water beads were added for more color and drama. I then placed a small LED orange light inside the vase. Next, came the small birds and a nest to continue the bird theme.
Here is a picture of the room before.....
The beginnings...We hung the tissue paper fans over existing pictures on the wall. My husband made a great partner.
We were crawling on top of the tables to attach the fans.
Feel free to click on each photo to see the picture large.
My husband built the box for the Love Is Sweet!
I covered it in yellow satin fabric with a staple gun.
I bought the letters from Beverly's Fabric. I then painted them with orange glitter paint.
I wanted them to really pop, so I added two spotlights with green bulbs.
I was thinking about this for quite some time. I started with the idea of adding rope lights inside of the box and cutting out the letters, so the lights shone through. Paul, my husband thought it was alot of work...In all, it all worked out! Thanks to my amazing husband.
Night time view....high drama
Well, I hope you all have enjoyed viewing the wedding photos.
The ceremony was supposed to be outside, however it was raining like crazy. At the last minute, they decided the ceremony would be in the ballroom. The room was quite bare, without windows, but the restaurant was fully decorated for the reception.
Thanks for visiting and I so appreciate your comments.

Oh I'm so glad it turned out this beautiful! That centerpiece with the lights really turned out to be special! I love seeing it lit with the lights turned down and the lights in the front of the table too! The back wall is amazing, it's really professional looking. The whole room is amazing- full of color and sweetness! I like the dressed out chairs too- it really added a nice luxurious detail! You had a lot of great ideas that went into it all! Too bad the wedding had to be indoors, but at least there was a back up plan! You look marvelous and kudos to hubby for helping so much!

ReplyDeleteIn addition to making the box I also had the tough task of candy quality control. Each candy vase had to be randomly sampled for quality control assurance. It was a tough job but somebody had to do it.

ReplyDeleteI know full well the total satisfaction and complete exhaustion that you felt when it was all completed. I remember getting up the next morning, kind of at a loss because all of a sudden I didn't have 50 million things to do. It's obvious that you put your heart and soul into creating an unforgettable, special reception for her. She is blessed to have you as her mom. Thank for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteIf I could get married again, I'd want you to be my wedding planner. Everything about the decorations was amazing and spectacular. The bride, groom and all the guests must have been so impressed and pleased. And, as always, you look FABULOUS. Hugs and xoxo, Karen
ReplyDeleteI am just trying to picture you hopping up on tables in an effort to get all those paper fans properly overlapped....WOW!!!!! You did so WORK here, my friend!!! What a novel idea to cover the existing artwork with a paper fan collage like that!!! It really gives the room an artsy touch! I am super impressed with all the work that went into making this reception room look like this! The candy buffet and the trees are really rockin', too! Hip, hip, hooray for your hard work!!! And you look gorgeous!!! I'm sorry it rained, but I hear it's good luck if it rains on your wedding day, so that may actually turn out to be a good thing. Congratulations to the whole family! Now go get some rest!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to cover the art work with the fans! I'm going to have to remember that. Art work in a venue is not always conducive to the mood you are trying to create. It looks like a wonderful wedding with so many unique details. laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, what cheery colors for a wedding. You did a great job with the decorations. We did a bird theme for my first daughter's wedding. She is 38 now. Isn't it funny how things come back around? I love decorating with birds. I threw a bridal shower last July for a future dil, again we did birds. Congrats to the newly married couple!
