This is a re-post. I have been so busy with two dinner parties, I am taking this day off. We had a Cinco de Mayo dinner party
and then an Italian Chef dinner.
We are taking my Mom to Brunch today. I feel so fortunate to be here to celebrate this very special day with my Mother and husband. This day last year, I came home from the hospital, after having ovarian cancer surgery.
Mother's Day is here, so it's time to make Mom feel extra special. She is already loved and appreciated, but I want to make this day very special.
My Mom loves pink, mauve, etc., so it's logical I would use her favorite colors for a Mother's Day Brunch.
The weather has been quite nice, so we can sit outside. I set this table outside of our kitchen window. The table is situated by a Koi pond.
The chairs are green, so it makes perfect sense to use this table set. I layered the table with a pink tablecloth and added a white lace tablecloth for added elegance.
The french doors lead to our Dining room. I used white chargers from Pier 1 and added green plates I got at Marshalls. The salad plates and matching bowls are by Gracie.
I am using my green Fleur De Lis glasses along with green goblets. The green flatware is from Horchow.
The napkin rings are from Zgallerie. They are fitting for Queen for a day.
The pink frilly covering around the flowers is actually a toddler's slip.
This setting is very pretty with our Japanese Maples.
You can see the fish fountain head behind the chair.
Here's my Mom: She is very active. She has a pet-sitting business. She crochets, knits, makes jewelry and belongs to the Red Hat Society.
My Mom's favorite song is "Rock Around the Clock" by Bill Haley and the Comets. In fact, our clogging group has performed a dance with that song.
Here's the video of us performing it. Yes, I am wearing the hot pink skirt.
I also wanted to honor my Grandmothers. I miss them very much! This photo is precious. Love the hat! She is my mom's mother. I also have a love letter from my grandfather to her when they were young. I want to honor my other Grandmother as well. I am at a loss for pictures. I hope to get some from my family.
I want to wish each and everyone of you a very happy Mother's Day. Thanks for stopping by.
