It was awesome! The weather was perfect!
Thank you Bryan and Neal! The party was so much fun.
My last post, I showed you a few pictures from the photo booth we created. I put together a fun slideshow to showcase everyone's photo at the party. I used Smilebox. The first song is The Wanderer by Dion. I chose that song, due to my husband's speech. It doesn't mean he is a womanizer...ha ha. He meant he will wander through life and enjoy it, one day at a time.
I can't believe how much fun the photo booth was. People got so silly. It is a sure way to get your party started and get everyone laughing. We had quite a bit of props already, left over from Halloween parties. We added some new props also. The dollar store was a great place to pick up some inexpensive (cheap) props.
It all started with a sheet with a nice pattern to mimic wallpaper. We bought a extra large picture frame to hang. I also bought 2 smaller frames, so people could hold them.
My husband built the hat rack, so we could hang hat and accessories. He also set up spot lights, because the party was at night. We set up the camera on a tripod with a remote camera control. We bought ours on Ebay. Here's one at Overstock.com for $5.99 Just make sure you get the one that is compatible with your camera. That way everyone can take their own pictures.
You can also buy an Eye-Fi card for your camera, and watch the photos on your ipad, still at the party. Get the free ipad app Eye-fi
too! The FREE Eye-Fi App means that you can now shoot wirelessly from your digital camera to an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch without having to have both devices connected to a WiFi hotspot. This is AWESOME NEWS! Even if you're out in the middle of nowhere, you would still be able to shoot and transfer the images to your mobile device.
I finished the photos by cropping them.
Enjoy the tips! Have fun and create your own photo booth. I am sure a lot of you have some cool props sitting in a closet somewhere. Thank you for visiting!

ReplyDeleteHi Linda, It is so nice to meet you, not sure how you found me but so glad you did because now I get to follow you! My hubby grew up in HP(Palo Alto)and then retired from Agilent after 36+ yrs. I love your Japanese Maple-we had many many of these in Ca. I can't wait to get to read thru previous posts. Both my brother in law and another family member have worked at HP. We probably know some of the same people if you are in Ca. Have a great weekend.

have a great week!
What a terrific idea to create a photo booth at the party. Our niece had a company host a photo booth with a ton of silly props at her wedding reception this summer. I'd never seen that done at a wedding before, but everybody had a lot of fun with it. I'm sure all your guests had a blast, too. Happy retirement to your hubby. Mine retired eleven years ago, and we don't know how he ever found the time to work! Thanks for stopping by my blog and signing on as a follower. It's my pleasure to return the favor. Count me in as your newest groupie.
