The deadly beast (C) has returned!

With a sad heart today, but a positive attitude, my doctor called me this morning with thew news, my mass is cancer.  I suspected it to be so, however I was holding  onto hope.

I am having surgery Thursday morning in Sacramento, Ca.  My doctor also has the pet scan results.
Hot spots around the mass, but it appears, no metastasis.

I feel better knowing the cancer has NOT spread.  A bump in the road, I will beat this thing!

Todays' technology is amazing.  Mostly likely my surgery will be robotic.  They are using  Da Vinci.
It is pretty interesting. I have been reading all about this procedure.

They operate on you in a head down position.  All I can say is, I am glad I will be asleep.

I want to thank each of you who have sent me your loving prayers, healing thoughts and friendship.

I will know more after the surgery.  My doctor did mention chemo again.  You know what that means..... all of your hair falls out, your eye lashes, eyebrows....I guess different cancer demand different treatment.
But, it doesn't define me.  Hair does grow back! Time will tell.
Ladies, I also want to say, pay attention to your bodies.

Also ask your doctor for a  CA-125 blood test.  It is a  marker for cancer....nothing guaranteed, but a red flag.
Ovarian cancer is a deadly killer, so caught early,  the survival
rate is so much better.
Thank you again.....Love, Linda

WOW... I am so sorry my sister! Love you to pieces and it is heartfelt sadness to me as well as you are aware. =( But thank god it has not spread and that you found it now. I think being aware as women as to what goes on in our body is so important. And for us to listen and react. My love and prayers are with you and you will BEAT THIS!! I am here for whatever you need and will be by the hospital if they allow visitors and after I give you time to rest. I would be HAPPY to cook for you on your first few days home as well if you would need? Just say the word hun... big hugs! LY!

  3. Linda, I am so saddened by the news. Your facing this head on, with a positive attitude is so inspiring (especially since you have been down this road before and know what to expect). Sometimes that can make one VERY bitter, but not you. Please know you will be in my prayers, and I will also be praying for your surgeon, team of nurses, and all of those caring for you in the days ahead. It really is a TEAM effort!

  7. I'm so sorry to hear about the latest report, Linda. Even when delivering this bad news, your positivity shines through and I know this make all the difference in facing this new challenge. I find that arming myself with as much information as possible lessens the fear so you're smart to be reading up on the procedures. We'll be waiting with prayers to hear about your progress. Good luck, my friend.

I suggest that we all form a positive image of kicking the hell out of C with Linda! We can use images that work for us and do this mentally each day, several times a day if possible.

What we think about, we bring about so let's bring on the good stuff for Linda!

We've got your back my friend ~

  15. I think it is incumbent upon each of us as your friends and blog buddies to face this with the same positive, brave, and upbeat attitude that you are, Linda. That, along with prayer, is the way I think each of us can contribute to your healing. As Gypsy Heart said, "What we think about, we bring about." ALL of us...each and every one of us...is going to think health, happiness, and a long & robust life for Linda. It's time to open a GREAT BIG can of whoop a$$ on cancer. On three, everybody: ONE, TWO, THREE...HIT THE BRICKS, CANCER!!!!!!!!!

  21. Hi Linda,

So sorry to hear of the beast's return..... I'm currently awaiting test results from last week at MD Anderson. The waiting is AWFUL, isn't it? I'm having some digestive issues and my hot flashes have decreased a lot so I'm pretty anxious to hear the results. My rare OVCA produces estrogen so a reduction in hot flashes might indicate rising estrogen levels. Take care and keep us informed of your progress. HUGS!!!!

  22. Linda, I am sorry to hear this news, but I know with your good attitude, you will do great. I had chemo with my cervical cancer and the type of drug didn't cause baldness, I do have a bit of thinning and dryness but I think it is supposed to come back. Maybe you will have the same drug as I did..There was a woman that had treatment at the same time as I did and she had a vaginal tumor also and I believe she was on the same drug too..It is Cisplatin.

Please keep us updated. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I know the Lord will direct the doctors hands and minds.

Much love and hugs to you. You can email me anytime you need to. My address is on the sidebar of my blog.

I haven't been blogging for awhile and just saw this post. I am so sorry to hear this. Linda my husband has stage 4 bone cancer and is licking it. This is his second time around for cancer also. The first time it was his lungs and part of his right lung was removed. When it came back the second time but in his bones we made some radical changes in our life. He has now gone from 5 prominent tumors to barely any existing. I would be most happy to share these things with you. I think you have my phone number already or email me. 56. Dear Linda
I found your story over on Mama Laughlins page and you are a true inspiration. I am so sorry for what you are going thru but I pray this too shall pass. My BFF got diagnosed in January with stage 3 breast cancer and seeing all the people turn away from b/c their own fears and not knowing what to do or say just breaks my heart. I will add you to my prayers at night when I pray for her. Take Care.
