Hello my friends. After seeing my doctor today to check how I am healing, she also told me the results of the second thyroid biopsy. It seems I have thyroid cancer. It's very treatable. I have an appointment with the Oncologist/surgeon next Tuesday. More surgery.
Both biopsies were done with guided ultrasound.
Both biopsies were done with guided ultrasound.
Radiation will have to wait for now, until I am healed. I am not sure what the Oncologist/surgeon wants to do.
This is just crazy!!!!!
Brooke Burke from Dancing with the stars dealth with thyroid cancer.
The thyroid gland is below the thyroid cartilage (Adam’s apple) in the front part of the neck. In most people, the thyroid cannot be seen or felt. It is butterfly shaped, with 2 lobes — the right lobe and the left lobe — joined by a narrow isthmus
Lesson No. 1: You are your best advocate
God bless ‘em, but doctors are not infallible. If something doesn’t feel right, speak up. If you find a lump, get it biopsied as soon as possible. And don’t see just any endocrinologist (remember, they handle issues from diabetes to weight loss) -- find one who is a thyroid cancer specialist.
Lesson No. 2: Ask for help
Asking for help is one of the toughest lessons I learned. But if it were not for friends, a neighborhood meal train and the cards and calls from friends, getting through that difficult time would have been nearly impossible.
Lesson No. 3: Cancer is a neverending story
Lesson No. 4: Re-evaluate your life
Ask yourself, “Why do I have cancer now?” The answers might just surprise you.
As I have always said, please pay attention to your bodies.
this is my third cancer diagnosis.
I will keep you posted. Thank you as always for your continued support, prayers and healing thoughts.

On the bright side, our little pup is doing wonderful. He is gaining weight and his little face changes
almost daily. He has brought us some sunshine....less sleep, however it is so worth it.
Chloe, his little mama is doing fine.

What do you think about the name, Dante?
It means steadfast, enduring and everlasting.
Thank you my friends for your continued love and support.

Oh Linda. I am so sorry you are having to go through this right now. I had a bout of health challenges last year myself. It's what started me blogging actually. It save my sanity!
ReplyDeleteMy Mr and boys were my strength.
I am sending you warm thoughts and prayers .
((HUGS))
Gee.
Oh Linda, I am sorry to hear this news....again! I wish you could get a break! I will continue to pray. Did I tell you, another blogger sent me a prayer bracelet. I keep it around my bottle of Plax and every morning I pray for her, you, another blogger and my family. The puppy is ADORABLE! Hoe old? I love the name Dante. XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteLinda...words cannot express how sorry I am that you are going through all of this, once, twice, now three times! That is enough to break anyones spirit. But, I am always amazed at how positive you have remained. You will continue to be in my prayers. The pup is so precious. Love the name Dante! Perfect for such a little fighter.
ReplyDeleteLinda, look at that sweet little puppy! How good that must feel to be nursing him along and he is thriving!
ReplyDeleteYour lessons speak the truth Linda and I agree.. WE are our own best advocates and must question what's said if we aren't comfortable with it. Thyroid cancer IS treatable. That said, any cancer is debating and requires immediate treatment. Go easy on yourself. Rest, recover, and try to keep level headed through all this. My mom is still getting her testing done. It's such a rediculous process and I know what's coming.
Happy 4th and enjoy your weekend! xxL
That should be devasting! I'm on my cell and my phone chanes my words on occasion!
DeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this news. You have been through so much, and I want you to know that I'm thinking about you and saying a prayer. May God be with you during this most difficult time.
Your puppy is precious. They soon become a part of our family, don't they?
Love,
~Sheri
Good Evening Linda, I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this for a third time.
ReplyDeleteI think of you often and I want you to know that I am sending you all my positive thoughts and love.
You are so right to advise us to listen to our own bodies.... we know them so well and any slight change should not be ignored.
Take care of yourself, you are surrounded by a lot of love.
With warmest withes to you,
Daphne
Linda, thank you for the good awareness points you wrote about. It really is so typical of what I've seen on your blog that you are reaching out to your readers to help them even in the middle of facing these health issues yourself. I see Blog Sister buttons on many blogs and let me tell you, you are certainly being the epitome of a blog sister in this post.
ReplyDeleteI, along with so many, are continuing to pray for this cancer to be treated and cured. Many hugs to you and to that sweet little puppy,
Dewena
Linda, you have been on my mind lately. Thank you for always thinking of others. My mother's oncologist told my sister, Mother, and me that people don't get cancer..families do. He was so right. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. You are one amazing lady.
ReplyDeleteSending hugs,
Helen
I am lucky enough to have clogged with Linda and go to lunch almost every month with her. She is an amazing lady! As you can see by her blog, she is extremely talented in many ways. It is not fair that she has had these diagnoses. It's more than most can bear. Her positive attitude and spirit rise above anyone's expectations, therefore, is an inspiration to all! I'm honored to be a friend of Linda's....and Dante is a product of Linda's determination to live life at its fullest! What a beautiful family! Marilyn
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I am thankful that you were diagnosed and will be treated; I've known several people with Thyroid Cancer and it seems like the treatment is not as bad as with other cancers. You are definitely in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteAs I recall, either you or your hubby worked at Roseville HP and I wonder if you or your man knew a gal named Gay Taylor. She is my sister in law. It is such a small world. Sending you hugs, love and prayers today.

Oh, Linda! I wish I could wave a magic wand and heal you completely. I will do the next best thing and pray for healing and remission for you. You are such a beautiful lady, inside and out, and I know that God has you in the palm of his hand. We got the news yesterday that a friend of ours who has been fighting cancer for two years is in full remission and I started to cry when he told us. It was such a relief. God bless you and Happy 4th of July. xo Diana
