I must be feeling better, I'm actually doing projects. I got my husband involved too!
He set up the pumpkin topiaries again this year. Since we had fountain grass in our large urns, we used the black pedestal pots for the pumpkins. This year, he used rope lighting. You can also use string lights.
I can see I need to adjust the pumpkins.....LOL
Leaning pumpkins.....
These pumpkin topiaries are quite easy to make. We bought the faux pumpkins
at Hobby Lobby. Make sure you cut out the 40% coupons in the Sunday paper.
My husband and I went in several times to buy them and save.
Three different sizes. Small, medium & large.
Drill two different sizes so you can see the lights inside.
Make a larger opening on the medium and large pumpkins, so you can add the lights.
We used a wood dowel to stack them together. They all sit on each other's stem.
Here they are, all decked out!
Health update!
I called the surgeon about my thyroid cancer.
I have 3 appointments this Tuesday.
My original Oncologist surgeon who did the surgery
for my Ovarian cancer...My radiologist...and the Oncologist surgeon who specializes in thyroid and other cancers.
He will go over the details for the surgery and order blood tests.
I have list of questions to ask.
I dread this because I will be taking a synthetic hormone pill.
The kitchen is progressing along.
Enjoy your Sunday and thank you all for your loving support.
It gives me great pleasure to know so many care.
I will be joining the following linky parties:

Don't you wish..all the doctors could have a get together or conference call?
ReplyDeleteI find so much is lost in translation when a few specialists are involved and the patient is actually the go between..
Perhaps they do confer..I hope they do for you.
It's such a wide scope..but one.. is ..part of you..as the other..
The goal should be to know the whole patient.
Projects..are a great sign:) :)
Everything looks super festive~!
Your porch looks so festive and ready for fall! I love the topiaries, they are perfect. Wishing you lots of luck and best wishes on your upcoming appointment.

ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty for fall. The fountain grass really adds the nice touch as a backdrop. Your doors are really pretty. I just was out getting the old ratty looking flowers gone today so haven't got around to any decorating. I have admired those topiaries for a long time. I love the holes for the fun lighting.

Linda, your entry is gorgeous. I could never have enough pumpkins and I absolutely love the way you have displayed them.
ReplyDeleteIt's so encouraging to see your enthusiasm as you continue with your medical procedures which are not pleasant at all. Hang in there. By the way, there are EXCELLENT alternatives to synthetic hormone for thyroid. Typically, docs don't like it but it's out there. There is one that a friend of mine looked up and had her own doctor prescribe. Worth the research.
Love and blessings.
Your entryway is so great for fall. Love the pumpkin topiaries. Good luck to you. I will include you in my prayers. Joni
ReplyDeleteLinda your decor is always lovely. You have just the touch. What a relief to see you back at the projects and feeling good. I'll be thinking of you today (Tuesday). Hope things went well.

Everything looks great. You're giving me a big push to get my house decorated, but it's hard to do it at summer temperatures. Take good, good care of yourself. I live on synthroid -- have for almost twenty years. Not my choice, but it's okay.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I love your new header!! And I adore Joni's too. xo
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing!!! Can you come decorate my house, too?! Stopping by from Thursday's Favorite Things, and I'd love for you to drop by my blog if you get the chance. Have a great weekend!

Hi Linda-
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you know it-but you come through as a NoReply when you leave a comment. I went to your blog to get the 1classydiva addy and my email popped back to me- so I am leaving my comment here.
Thanks for the comment this morning. I thought about you on Friday and thought I would contact you the first of the week. I wondered how your surgery went and how you were/are doing. Life is just plain scary and miserable sometimes, isn't it? I have been praying for you and a total recovery.
Thanks for helping bj. I am clueless so the only thing I could do was do a post on my blog for her. I hope you can work your Fairy Blogmother Magic and help her- xo Diana
