Pretty in Purple

I used a flowering cabbage for the centerpiece.  My husband bought me the beautiful lavender glass bowl years ago for Mother's Day.  The artist happens to live close by.  He is an international artist for blown glass. Here's his link: Nicholson Blown Glass
It is quite fascinating to watch. He has branched out to make light fixtures, sinks, statues and ornaments.

I know Jacqueline from Purple Chocolat Home would love this color.
I found these gorgeous purple plates at Home Goods, along with
the purple glass compotes.
Even the glasses are lavender.  I used silver chargers.

The charger looks gold here...trust me, it's silver.

I am using pillow cases for chair covers.  I figured out the King size fits our Breakfast room chairs.
They are inexpensive and come in all different colors and designs.  You can bling them up, add a sash or ribbon.

It's finally raining a little in California.  We desperately need the rain.
Enjoy your week.

  7. Love the pretty plates! I almost did a purple Tablescape myself! That glass bowl you have is beautiful and I like how you made it a centerpiece with the floral arrangement. That's a neat idea about using the pillowcase covers for chair dressing. The silver chargers and pretty tablecloth are perfect with the purple hues.

  10. Just beautiful, Linda! You make me want to run right out to HG to find those gorgeous plates. I've been collecting some small purple touches, like dessert plates & some stemware, but the ones you found are awesome!
Nice tip about using a fancy pillowcase to switch out the look of your chairs. I need to see if that will work on my rounded top dining room chairs.

    Hope you're feeling well,
    Rett

  17. Linda, where I live in Utah, if CA gets rain, we get rain. So glad you have rain, because we are having some moisture too. I love those plates -- so unusual. I love the lavender compotes too. I have some in yellow. What a clever idea with the pillowcases. Joni

  19. GOOD MORNING LINDA! It has taken me days to get over here! With getting up early just to beat the snow and long commute to work, I have not been able to visit. Love the happy purple over your chairs, and that blown glass! FABULOUS! I am glad to hear there is rain in your forecast. It saddens me when you guys are in drought conditions; I certainly remember that, growing up in L.A.!

    Happy weekend my beauty! Anita

  21. I believe Jacqueline has the same tablecloth you're showing here... ;)
I love Purple... I came for inspiration as I'll have mother-in-law for Sunday Lunch as a late birthday party (her birthday fell on Monday and working....) but she doesn't like Purple very much, but I bet IF I could create this setting she wouldn't even know the color that hit her ahahahahah
Wonderful Job, Sweetie. Have a wonderful, warm and safe weekend,
    Teresa

  27. Linda,
Yes, it's finally raining in California! I had to comment on this post because PURPLE is my favorite color. Your table setting is so lovely. Purple just speaks to me, it is so beautiful. Your plates that you bought at Home Goods are pretty, and I love the cloth napkins. What a great idea to use pillow cases for chair covers - never thought of that before.

I want to send Valentine's wishes your way, and I hope your day is filled with happiness and love.
