Dubbed “the funniest man alive” by Entertainment Weekly in 1997, Williams brought audiences hours of laughter, putting his imaginative spin on characters in film and television.
He was lauded for his serious roles as well, winning a best supporting actor Oscar for his performance as Sean Maguire, the therapist who counsels Matt Damon’s math genius in “Good Will Hunting” (1997). He also received nominations for “The Fisher King” (1991), “Dead Poets Society” (1989) and “Good Morning, Vietnam” (1987).
I recently watched the video of Robin Williams with Koko the Gorilla. They were having a tickle fight....It just touches your heart and makes you smile.
You will be greatly missed Robin. May your soul find peace you couldn't find in real life.

Love him.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
He was so special, and will be greatly missed.
ReplyDeleteWe, too, were saddened to hear this news! Our world is dimmer for this loss of this gifted man who brought laughter to so many.
ReplyDeleteIt is so very sad to me that someone who makes us happy, was himself struggling to be happy. I love so many of his movies. He will be missed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this Linda, such a beautiful yet tortured soul. RIP Robin, you were a gift to us all.
ReplyDeleteI am so please to see you posted this tribute Linda.
ReplyDeleteRobin was a remarkable man and we all loved him - we knew him too here in England.
Thank you for showing that delightful clip of him with Koko the gorilla. I had not seen that before.
I was so sad to see he has died at just 63 in such tragic circumstances . RIP
He's left a hole in our hearts and minds. I hope he's at peace now.
ReplyDeleteRIP Robin- the world loved you and you are missed already!
I had not seen this before, Linda. Thanks so much for sharing it. He must have been a lover of wildlife because I have seen a documentary that he's done with orcas as well as dolphins. I have never been so deeply affected by a celebrity's passing. He gave so much to us and I'm so saddened to discover that he struggled with severe depression. I hope he is at peace now. Hugs to you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Linda.
ReplyDeleteWe were shocked when a friend texted us to tell us of the news. I wondered, "HOW?" Then when I read how it happened, I then asked, "WHY?"
There are no answers.
Peace my friend. Anita
So very sad ~ he was brilliant and brought so much joy to so many.

He was the Crown Prince of Funnyville, that's for sure. I've been watching the "20/20" that I DVRed on his death. Very poignant and informative...and so, so sad.
ReplyDeleteI watched the 20/20 show and have been watching videos online of him today. Such a sad ending for a man who made millions laugh. I,too, hope his soul has found peace at last. I also hope that maybe his death will open a discussion of depression and other mental illnesses. Beautifully said, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI loved the video Linda, thanks so much for sharing it. very touching.
ReplyDeleteI am still in shock......such a loving kind man. With such a heavy burden.....
ReplyDeleteWell done Linda, touching video.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not a particularly big Robin Williams fan, I couldn't figure out why his death bothered me so much! Then I realized it was because it brought back a lot of memories of bad times when I seriously considered suicide too.
ReplyDeleteI'd never seen that video before, thanks for sharing.
A very touching post, Linda, on Robin Williams. We never know what goes on deep within a person to cause such despair, do we?
