Palapa Luncheon

We recently entertained the Clogger's group down by our pool, under the palapa.
Our group usually meets once a month for lunch at a local restaurant.  I thought it would be fun to host the luncheon at our home, poolside.  We have had many parties here for the Clogger's, but it is usually in the dining room.

My handy husband  built the 12 foot long table.  It is a temporary table to accommodate 12-13 people.  I wanted the whole group to sit together.  After entertaining, he will take it apart and build me a potting bench. I chose a teal tablecloth, because the dishes have teal, red, green and white.  It looks pretty blue here.

This is the true color.  It is called Caribbean.  I bought it from linentablecloth
The dishes I bought last year from QVC.  They are Laurie Gates Embossed melamine.
You can find them on Ebay or Amazon.

Outdoor kitchen where the Chunky Monkey's, Pina Colada's and Margaritas were served.
My husband  was the bartender and my assistant.  Here is a site for some yummy tropical cocktails.

Excuse the poor quality pictures.  The camera was on the wrong setting.  I need a photographer when I entertain.  I am so busy setting up, I forget to take pictures.  My husband took some.
I felt like I needed to have the day over, so I could get shots of everything.  We missed taking a group shot, except for the one of us sitting at the table.

I bought two inflatable salad bars for the cold food.  They were only under $10.00 each.
I bought them on Ebay with free shipping.  They sell them everywhere and even come in colors and patterns. They even have a drain.  Great for outdoor parties.

Everyone going through the line.  It was potluck style with my husband and I providing cocktails, pulled pork and desserts.

The desserts were the Nutter Nutter flip flops, mini upside down pineapple cakes and Hawaiian Dream Dessert.  My inspiration for the mini upside down pineapple cakes came from Big Mama's Home Kitchen.

I forgot to take a picture of the Hawaiian dream Dessert, but you can visit the Noble Pig and get the recipe. The ladies said these are so delicious.  Easy and no baking......
My next post will be the tote bags I customized for each lady.  Have a fabulous week ahead.
It is getting hot.  I have already  swam in our pool several times.
You can visit my Poolside Dining link to see the party from last year.

  8. That table worked out perfect! All the fun decorations, dinnerware and tablecloth were perfect! We've been frying up here in Oregon on our visit. I'm not used to this 90 deg. stuff! So glad your party turned out so well! Swimming in the pool sounds perfect!

You are the best hostess and I know your group had a fun time. Love the melamine dishes too. The patterns are awesome for outdoor entertaining.

  13. So much fun, Linda! I love the inflatable salad bars and will definitely order those. The pineapple upside down cakes are making me hungry for dessert and it's only 6 am, lol. All your hard work made for a beautiful party, WW, and a great time. So nice that Paul is such a big help! You're going to have to help him host a party for his buddies now, lol. Talk soon, sweet friend. Lots of love to you. xoxo

  15. Your table and dinnerware are really pretty. I would have loved eating at that setting.
Love the inflatable salad bars but unfortunately they'd probably blow away around my place. There's always a breeze. Sometimes it gets our rocking chairs to moving and they tip over or end up in a different location on the patio. LOL What an awesome husband playing bartender and helping you out. Can't complain here my husband is a great helper. Better than me. ;o)
