The Look Of Autumn

Pumpkin time.
A toasty fire to keep us warm. The mantel is all decorated for fall.  I know some of you have already started decorating for Christmas.  I have yet to start.
I took these photos yesterday afternoon.  I cannot believe the colors this year, especially in California.
View from the porch. Our trusty lions keep watch....LOL
Rosemary, Japanese Maple, Nandina and a ginkgo tree  surrounds the man made waterfall creek.  I love the look of the leaves sitting in the waterfall  Of course I shall be cleaning them up soon..
It's been raining for a few days now. Tomorrow I am off to check on my parents.  I made my dad some Chicken Tortilla soup.  Here's the recipe I use.  I do doctor it up by adding chili beans.
For a dinner party at our friend's home, I was asked to bring dessert.  They told me the dinner theme is Cajun and asked me to bring something cooling and light.  I have looked around and decided on a Pumpkin Ice Cream Torte.  If you have any wonderful dessert recipes, please leave it in a comment.
Another Autumn tablescape shall be posted in a few days.

  1. This soup looks so tasty. A local restaurant make delish Chicken Tortilla Soup and now my mouth is watering for some! Your table looks so inviting! Enjoy the colors in your landscaping - everything is bare or brown here now!

  6. It’s great that you’re continuing to enjoy the fabulosity of autumn while you still can! It always seems like such a short season. It’s just made so by the rush to get ready for Christmas, I suppose. It’s nice to see the grounds around your house that boast all the colors and textures that we all love so much but kick to the curb way too soon!

  7. Linda, I love how you decorated the mantle for fall and the table is so warm and inviting with the pumpkin. Your waterfall is so pretty and I agree, love the leaves. I enjoy the leaves here blowing across the still green grass. Your landscape is stunning. Happy Thanksgiving.
