Recently the ladies of The Traveling Tote decided it would be great fun to do a The Taste of ___________Swap. We were matched up with another member. The idea is to send our partner some local flavors from our area.
I was paired up with Jenna The Painted Apron who is from Alabama.
What a fun gift bag, Jenna made for me. All things from Alabama. We didn't realize how much we had in common. We both grew up in Southern California and she went to college in Northern California where I reside now.
Sweet Home Alabama
Look at these goodies. From cotton to some yummy treats. Of course my husband was anxious to open some and try them.
I am wanting to try the white barbecue sauce from Big Bob Gibson. It is a white sauce, not your traditional red sauce. I shall be trying the sauce with some grilled chicken.
Big Momma's Butter scotch cookies were very good, especially with a cup of coffee.
Jenna even made a magazine with some of her creations, whether it's crafts or recipes. What a clever idea. Jenna is so creative.....a foodie too. She is always cooking up a storm or painting.
Thank you Jenna for my wonderful gifts from your lovely state of Alabama. Also many thanks to Patti, our founder organizing this very fun idea.
I haven't posted much this week, due to helping my Mom. I spent the night with her and drove her to have acupuncture. She is suffering from nerve pain. I have also been working in our gardens. We have two projects to work on.

ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Linda, How wonderful to receive such a fabulous gift box, filled with wonderful goodies. The only time I have seen cotton is when I visited my daughter in Atlanta, we had driven to Nashville and on the route back my son in law drove past some cotton fields so that I could see how cotton was grown. I was truly amazed. I had never seen anything like it.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your mother feels better after having acupuncture.
Have fun and enjoy all your treats.
With warmest wishes
Daphne

Wow - what great gifts from Jenna and we had so much fun! Hope your sweet mom feels better soon and that acupuncture helps. Every time I see cotton for sale in the store, I think of our Southern bloggers. Please pass the white BBQ sauce!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I'm sorry to hear of your mom's pain. I'm in the same situation as you are right now with caring for my mom and as a result I've been very absent from blogland, but I enjoyed this swap so much! Jenna sent you a great collection of unique goodies from her area, from the cotton branches to the white sauce, and I'd love to browse through the magazine to soak in some southern style! Your package to Jenna was also wonderful and I know she'll make good use of the farm goodies and the apron. Hope your mom feels better soon and that you had a special birthday. Linda
