Hello friends, four times a year, the gals of The Traveling Tote share a connected post on our travels, whether it's around our homes, or a trip somewhere. In case, this is your first time visit with The Traveling Tote, you can read how it all began here.
In March my husband, his brother and wife and myself went to Kauai for two weeks. We were excited to show Paul's family the sights of Kauai, since they had not been there. We all had a great time. We always stay in Poipu at the Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club.
Miss Lola is my tote's name. Here she is at Tide Pools, a tropical restaurant at the Grand Hyatt. We always eat here when we visit Kauai. Fresh seafood and lovely cocktails. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here with Paul's brother and wife and their son.
The koi are pretty amazing near the Tide pools restaurant.
The lobby at Marriott's Waiohai Beach Club in Poipu. Miss Lola is having another photo op.
We always visit the Makauwahi Cave Reserve. Makaiwahi Cave Reserve is Hawaii's largest limestone cave, the richest fossil site in the islands, and a preserved archaeological site. You can read more about it here.
Close to Makauwahi Cave reserve, there is a Tortoise Sanctuary. Another visit to visit see these incredible tortoises.
On another day, we visited the Kauai coffee plantation. A great place to taste the different flavors. You can do a self guided tour and then explore the gift shop.
I love the fresh tropical flowers. The colors are so vivid and beautiful. I would love to have some of these plants in our yard.
We always visit these lovely gardens. The Botanical garden in Poipu is free, however they do offer paid tours for the McBryde and Allerton Gardens.
Wailua Falls
A waterfall to visit and take in the beauty is Wailua Falls. Patti, my sister-in-law bought a basket from a guy sitting there whipping out baskets.
Miss Lola and my trusty hat on our balcony.
Look at this fun guy. He can be found at Kukui'ula Village. There are some great restaurants plus shopping in this center.
The Trading post is a favorite place to buy pearls. They also sell shirts, dresses and other jewelry.
Ok, on to the Giveaway! Ricki Jill from The Sketchy Reader is hosting our giveaway. To get a chance of winning this darling wine tote, be sure to leave a comment on The Sketchy Reader's blog.

It is always so fun to take someone to a place you love. Miss Lola and you look great in Hawaii. I always tell hubby it is my favorite place and I could sell everything and move there except for the grandkids, but I am sure they would come and visit often!!
ReplyDeleteAloha! What a fun, fabulous trip to Kauai. My very first big excursion on my own after graduating from college was to Hawaii.
