Black and White Table with Pink

Happy Fall!  The days are warm and the nights are cool!  Wonderful sleeping weather.  My cold is better, thank goodness.  Still under the weather with the darn cough.

I set a pretty table in our breakfast room with black and white checks with pink. I believe you can decorate how you wish for each season..  The leaves haven't changed yet. My inspiration are these lovely pink velvet pumpkins.

I am using a tall candle holder. I draped a pink rose garland around it and added the pumpkins plus a large pink sunflower.

I also added a buffalo print pumpkin and a large check ribbon that drapes down.  This centerpiece can be moved when eating a meal.  I needed some pink accent for the candle holder, so I added pink candy melts.  Feel free to use m&m's easter eggs, etc.
These dishes are so pretty in pink, a light blush color.  I did not have any black chargers, so I turned some red square chargers upside down.  Most chargers are black on the bottom.  Problem solved!  Black flatware is from Horchow.

For the napkin rings, I am using my cute little wire pumpkin place card holders.

My friend  Liz from Home and Gardening With Liz told me about these cuties and found them in her Michaels store.

I bought light pink roses to use with the pumpkin.  I made 2-3 holes in each pumpkin, cut the rose stems short and shoved the roses into the pumpkin.  There is no need for water, since the moisture of the pumpkins will keep the roses fresh.
Black and white check is a lot of fun.  It goes well with any color.  A wonderful look for Halloween and even Easter.

Some fun pumpkins on my candle holders. The tall vase is Mackenzie Childs.

I added my Grandin Road harlequin candle to the holder.

For this table, since my chairs are red and black with gold, I am using pink pillow cases plus two black ones.  Solves the issue with the chairs not matching my chosen theme.  Feel free to think outside of the box when designing.  Be creative!
I bought the pink velvet pumpkins on Etsy.

A closeup of the centerpiece.  I hope you have enjoyed my non traditional fall  pink table.  Have fun and I hope the weather has cooled for you as well.

  20. The black and white really ups the sophistication of pink. Or is it that pink both softens and punctuates the black? Either way -- a beautiful mix of color!
