Mardi Gras 2020

Mardi Gras which is French for Fat Tuesday refers to the events of the Carnival celebration, beginning on or after the Christian feasts of the Three Kings. It is the day before Ash Wednesday.
A rich purple tablecloth sets the mood for these colorful tablescape. Purple, green and gold are my colors for this fun table.

For the King cupcakes, I am using these cute gold crowns I purchased from Amazon. They come with little domes if you want to add candy or something else inside..  I chose to use my upside down and topped it with another and added my cupcakes.

The masks are a Dollar Tree purchase, along with the beads. Gold chargers sit beneath the glass golden plates and then a purple and gold salad plate. A crown napkin ring is holding the napkins. Golden goblets with gold flatware complete the look.

I layered the beads in the tall glass vase.  I then added a small chunk of floral foam, so I could stick the different colored feathers to create a tall floral centerpiece.

Enjoy your "Fat Tuesday." I also sharing a  few masks created by Mackenzie Childs especially for Mardi Gras.

  1. Filling the tall vase with colorful beads is ingenious as it brings color all the way to the top of your feathery plumes. A very festive table.

  14. That magnificent feather centerpiece is so grand and gathers guests to a fun and festive table. How creative you were with those gold crowns by turning them over and using them to serve your little cupcake "King" cakes! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
