With the covid 19 virus, we all have been in quarantine. I see some states are starting to open up. I was home for two months without leaving our home. Paul did any shopping we needed. A whole new world. Crazy about the bathroom tissue being out of stock and hand sanitizer. I could't find yeast either. I had to order it from Ebay.
I am hosting this giveaway with these lovely Feather Canape Knives. Be sure to leave a comment below to enter for a chance.
Mackenzie Childs has been busy sewing masks and donating them to first responders around the NY area.
This week, restaurants and beauty salons are opening with strict guidelines.
My Hair stylist set an appointment for me in June. We have to wait in our car and then text our stylist to let them know we have arrived. She will text me back when her station is all sanitized. Everyone is wearing masks. Our county has a very low count on the virus cases.
Everyone is baking and cooking more. Families are re-united with the sheltering in place order.
Miss Lola and I have been cooking and baking up a storm!
Miss Lola loves to be dressed up!
Miss Lola and Dante hanging out by the pool.
Miss Lola, Dante and I have been spending a lot of time outdoors. Recently the pool has warmed up for a nice dip.
We are currently having our outdoor kitchen renovated. The stone mason is starting on Monday and we selected large porcelain tiles for the counter top. With the island being so large, if we went with granite, we would need two slabs and then there are only a few selections for outdoor use.
We are going with Tru Marmi- a matte finish using 12 x 24 tiles.
This picture Paul took of me standing in our field of St. John's Wort. I love the look of the sky. It is going to rain. Last night we had lightning and thunder.
A fun photo I took with Zoom.
We recently had a Zoom meeting with most of the Traveling Tote gals.
There were a few that were missing, however we have another meeting planned with all. It was great seeing the gals. Some I have met in New York. We are looking forward to another zoom meeting in June.
I had some fun with Snapchat with a glamorous mask.

ReplyDeleteHola Pilar, thank you for your sweet comment. I have translated it here for others.
DeleteHello Linda, even if I do not enter the draw due to the distance, I want to approach your blog to tell you what I like your garden, there Miss Lola must feel very comfortable, you have it beautiful and the slope full of St. John's Grass is in all its splendor, I do not know that grass, now I will look on google to see if I find seeds around here. A kiss (Ahhh you look beautiful in your mask. Never miss the humor!)
Good morning from Texas! I really enjoy Tales of the Traveling Totes as we travel often in our motor coach. Although quarantine has us at home this summer, we hope to be back on the road soon. Stay safe and pray we come out of this pandemic to a new and better "normal".
ReplyDeleteThank you Charlotte. I know with the quarantine, it makes it difficult to travel. My mom and dad loved traveling in their motor home. Hopefully things will change. Stay safe as well.
DeleteLinda, love your Snapchat mask and tiara - so YOU! You have the perfect place to shelter in place, so wonderful! I cannot believe how lush and thick your property landscape is, so beautiful! It's certainly been a strange three months, and let's pray that the coming weeks of reopening leave us all as safe as we've managed to be during the quarantine. Our world and especially our country could use a real blessing right now! Happy June.
ReplyDeleteThank you Rita, gotta love Snapchat...LOL My grandkids and I are always playing with it. Yes, crazy three months. I love this time of year when things are blooming. After my first cancer surgery, I planted lots of small St. John's Wort on that hillside. I do hope things get back to normal for all of us. Looking forward to seeing your smiling face soon on Zoom.
DeleteLinda, you look really pretty - like a young twenty year old - in your fun Zoom photo! And WOW! You have an amazing collection of Mackenzie-Childs pieces, too! Continue to enjoy your beautiful outdoor area! Your pool and garden look so gorgeous and inviting!
ReplyDeleteAwww Gail, you are so sweet. Snapchat can take years off...LOL I am loving our gardens this time of year. Thanks for your visit.
DeleteI was happy to see that your tote did not collect any dust during this time! Your pool looks like a lovely spot to spend the summer and the photo of you in the flowers is adorable!! And Lola knows how to relax on that comfy lounger! Stay safe and here's hoping that our country reopens safely and that we all return to a safe world!
ReplyDeleteThank you Patti. No travels, just around our home. I know we all have been cooking up a storm. Probably diet time soon. Stay safe as well and lots of hope for our country to re-open safely.
DeleteThat's a fun kitchen mat! Love the flamingo floatie too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra, isn't the mat fun? The flamingo is a blast and so big.

ReplyDeleteThank you. I do love the photo and the sky is gorgeous with the awesome clouds. I love my flamingo. You are so kind Monique.
DeleteLove your tote on the pool float Linda! I know it was not a hardship to shelter in place at your beautiful resort style home! I did go to the dermatologist a few weeks ago, texting from my car and going in when they text me, everyone masked and wearing PPE, it is quite a surreal experience! Your hair looks great to me and you haven't even gone yet! Love love the glamorous mask!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna. I love that our pool is open and ready for swimming. Paul teases about being in quarantine here. You are so kind. Thanks for the compliments. I keep thinking should I let my hair grow or cut it....See you soon.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Linda, love the Snapchat photo of you with your glamorous mask and tiara. Your home is a beautiful place to shelter, it looks like a five star resort. You should frame the photo of you with umbrella, love it with the field of flowers. It seems that we all have been cooking and baking more! Wishing you a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteHello Pam, thanks so much. Glamour is fun stuff! We love our property and as you know it takes some work. The umbrella pic is one of my favorites and of course my hubby loves taking credit for a great photo. Have a lovely week.
DeleteYou have a beautiful home to shelter in place Linda. Looks like a lot of fun snapping pics of Miss Lola around your pool, love the float pic. Great pics of you, love your mask! We are having a spike in Covid19 cases in my town so we continue to shelter. Happy you have so few cases there. Look forward to seeing you in our Zoom chat this week. Great post, love seeing your beautiful home...........
ReplyDeleteHi Emily, thank you so much. We so appreciate our home and surroundings. Spending time here in quarantine is a good thing. Isn't the mask fun? Gotta love that Snapchat. Hi Linda, it's amazing how so many people are cooking and baking so much lately. The canape knives are really pretty and would be perfect with a cheese board. I think your hair looks great and I am happy that things are slowly starting to open up again. Dante looks adorable relaxing by the pool and the new granite sounds nice for your new table. It's so fun having the zoom meet ups and nice that you will be doing more of them with your blog friends. Your husband is great going out and doing all of the shopping. Linda – I could easily stay at home on your property for two months. Your home and garden is a slice of paradise, and you and Paul are so motivated with your home improvement projects. Home Sweet Home has been working well for me, and hopefully we can all travel soon before our next posts. Miss Lola and you are looking so beautiful, and I love how you did the pretty Zoom photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debbie, you are always welcome. Lots of projects, I think we are pretty much done with any future projects...lol Home Sweet Home is the best place to be. See you soon on Zoom.

DeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteYour snapchat picture is great and you look beautiful!
I love alm your shots of your Loka traveling around your oasis, you don't want her to get bored.
Cindy
Thanks so much Cindy. Never bored here.
DeleteI'm seeing lots of lemons from lemonade here! It looks pretty good and if you have to lock down, I can't think of a better spot than Chez Linda!
ReplyDeleteI love the drawing prize but I was so lucky to win last month, I should probably sit this one out, just to be fair. Good luck to all!
Thanks Jeanie, I will make a note about the giveaway.
DeleteLOve your glam mask. Zoom was a great idea for the group.
ReplyDeleteYou did have the perfect hideaway for quarantine. I was grateful for good weather and plenty of room. I walked in our neighborhood and that really helped.
I did some baking and froze items for our family beach trip.
Have a great week. Such terrible things happening in our country.
Thanks Bonnie. Zoom is so fun. We are enjoying our own oasis. Walking is so good for you. I guess we are all baking more. Have a great week.
DeleteI have won several giveaways so please don't include my name in your giveaway. It is a nice giveaway and someone will be glad to win.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post, as always, Linda. Such a beautiful home and surroundings. I am appreciating this time for it has slowed life down and given us time to get back to our family and friends in a new, closer way. Hear in Durham, NC we just started Phase 1 yesterday...slow is good. We have been instacarting our groceries to save us from going to the store. I appreciate those workers who do. Be well, be safe.
ReplyDeleteThanks Anita, we feel fortunate to have such a lovely place to call home. Yes, life has slowed down and given families to spend together and be creative. We also did the instacart for awhile. Recently we did visit Costco and a few restaurants with outside dining. Stay safe as well.
DeleteYour pool love absolutely divine!
ReplyDeleteThose canape knives have me dreaming of the holidays and what I want to place on my charcuterie boards! Love the fun Snapchat filters! And, your backyard oasis looks like a beautiful place to quarantine!
ReplyDeleteYou gals are just having too much fun with the traveling tote! These photos were fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this giveaway and good luck to all!
Lisa
I am not at all comfortable about leaving the house, although, truth be told, isolation is kind of my lifestyle. Rather than go to the salon, I decided to cut and color my own hair. It doesn’t look half bad. But then, being stuck in, I have probably lost all perspective.
