Dining Among the Palms

I set a tropical table down by our pool with palm tree plates.  I have had this dishes for a long time.  The rattan chargers go well with this look.  I am loving the makeover we gave our pool.
Bamboo flatware fits in nicely.  The napkins are also palm leaves.  The table is surrounded by palms and tropicals flowers and plants.  This makes for  fun summer poolside  dining.

I noticed some of my acrylic glassware is fading when I put them in the dishwasher. Anyone have any tips?

The island has filled in beautifully with tropical plants.

New additions are the two pink flamingos on each side of the waterfall.
I hope you are enjoying the summer.  With the Covid-19, the rules keep changing.  Now our beauty salon is closed again.

  1. Wow what a beautiful place to dine and enjoy some wine.
I would suggest hand washing or remove from the dishwasher before the drying cycle. The heat from the dishwasher will fade your dishes for sure.

  4. Such a wonderful setting, Linda. We hand wash anything painted or with a decal. Hand washing is really best for saving your good pieces.♥️

  7. Ooh I like the pattern on the dishes and the way you displayed the napkins! I had some acrylic drinkware that I put in the dishwasher and right away they started to fade so I resorted to hand washing them. Your pool and surrounding gardens are gorgeous, a real paradise!

  11. Linda, you're right, the rattan chargers and bamboo flatware look really smart with your tropical tableware. That pool and all your plants is like living on a resort. It's a real blessing to have those luxuries anytime, but especially during this pandemic. So far our salons are still open, so are bars and restaurants. But numbers warn we should be doing better!

  13. This is a beautiful spot for your tropical dining table. The tablecloth is prefetching for the rattan chargers and plates. I love you can enjoy the pool renovations and your beautiful tropical gardens. How wonderful to have the tropics in your own backyard, especially now while we are all staying home. I love what you and Paul have created, a little slice of paradise!

  20. Such a gorgeous setting for a pretty table. I love all the changes you've made to the pool and island. Isn't it funny - I've set a table this week with the same West Indies palm plates I found several years ago in a store that bills itself as everyone's forgotten attic.
