Guest Bedroom Reveal

Here is the bed for the guest bedroom.  The one thing I am not crazy about is the color of the padded headboard.  I might be changing that. As I said before we gave my granddaughter the other bedroom set.  It was called the Jungle room because it had leopard print, elephants, giraffes, etc. The kids always enjoyed staying in this room.  You can tell how outdated it was due to the big box tv and wallpaper border.  It was time for a change..
Before
After

My husband painted the room. Some of the photos look darker, however it is a lighten shade on the walls.  New comforter set, new lamps plus new furniture.

A totally different look than before. More calming. On this nightstand is a photo of my sister, Cynthia and I. She passed away in 2004.

The nightstands match.  I know some designers suggest to not match, however this is our home and I  don't keep up with the trends.  I like symmetry.

My Mom's photo sits in a white and gold frame on a nightstand along with an angel.  As I stated in another post, this bed design is the very same bed my mom had purchased for her new home. Unfortunately I could not get her bed, so I purchased a new one.

Do you shop your home?  The curtains were in our living room, so for now I am using them in this guest bedroom.  I am on the hunt for new living room curtains.
The tray is something I used in another room.

The comforter is Sandstone by J Queen of New York.

The throws I had, so I draped one over the chair and another one at the end of the bed. The picture of the  orchids is something I had. The throws pillows I also had.

This chair is from our Breakfast room.  We have two arm chairs from that set that I use in other rooms, due to the table is being a round table that accommodates 4 chairs.

Now we have two guests rooms that are got makeovers.  This guest bedroom and then the bling room below. I suppose I should give this guest room a name. When Lilly visits for a week, we both sleep in the bling room and talk between watching the tv show, I Nailed It!

  8. Linda, it is very pretty. Quite a difference and that makes for a nice change. Are you still planning on changing the color of the headboard? How will you do that? It seems that would be a hard job, for me anyway!! I painted some patio cushions with chalk paint and finished them with clear wax. They came out really well and had a beautiful texture and held up also..Stay well..xxoJudy

    1. Thank you Judy. As for the headboard fabric, I have seen some awesome tutorials for painting fabric. Some padded headboards with chalk paint. I just want to lighten it. xoxo

  9. Super job on the remodel. I love both guest bedrooms, and the chair is over the top perfect! :D I would love to have one just like it! I like the cute bling room, too, especially the chandy.

I also like the bed as is. I like the fabric just in case you're conducting a survey, LOL!

  12. Linda, this looks really good. I think the way you shopped your home and the new items you chose look even better than the original picture from the website. This would be my choice room to stay in! Love that view out the window too.
