I haven't posted or visited any blogs because I have COVID. Tuesday I came down with flu like symptoms. My husband and I both tested and were negative.
My symptoms were sore throat, runny nose, cough, body aches and little appetite.
Thursday afternoon I started experiencing terrible lower abdomen pain radiating around to my left side of my back., plus sweats and vomiting. I had my husband take me to ER.
They did all kinds of tests, ct scan, chest x-ray, blood tests. I have COVID, plus a kidney stone trying to pass which is awful pain. I am home with meds and antibiotics. Not fun at all.

Linda, I am so sorry to read about how sick you are. A kidney stone or Covid is bad enough by itself, but to have both at the same time must be horrible. Praying for you to feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, Linda, I'm so, so sorry. Covid and a kidney stone is no joke.
ReplyDeleteI had Omicron in January and once I was better I sent this note to family and friends:
Here's what I wished I'd known:
If you get Omicron, it's only mild in the sense that it doesn't go into your lungs and send you to the hospital. It still feels awful. If you're dealing with an elderly person, get help immediately. They may feel awful but will have a hard time describing the "awful."
Day 1 to Day 10: If you go beyond day 10 like I did, you're out of luck. So go to the dr. as soon as you think you might have Omicron and ask for the monoclonal antibodies. This treatment is supposed to cut the duration by 50 percent.
If you've hit day 10 or more, ask your doctor about antibiotics. At Day 14, my GP over Zoom prescribed Azithromycin (250 mg, for 5 days). Omicron is a virus, and an antibiotic won't help a virus. But the problem is that the original virus can spin into pneumonia and then you go to the hospital. The antibiotics can stop an infection early on.
What I really wish: I'd planned in a bunch of ways for Omicron but I didn't do the most important thing: call my doctor in advance and ask how they handle testing, monoclonal antibodies, antibiotics etc.
Hang in there Linda!!

Ohmygoodness, Linda! I can't think of any worse combination of health issues than COVID and kidney stone simultaneously. I hope the stone passes on its own, amd your symptoms are lessening each day. Mr P has a history with kidney stones, so I empathize with you. I'm wondering if Paul was actually + too. The tests are definitely not 100% accurate. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteCovid and a kidney stone? I'm so sorry...hope you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you're so sick Linda. I'm still wearing my mask wherever I go, because I just cannot take any chances. People think it's no big deal but it really is. No one should have this. take care and hope you're well soon! thanks for having us over even though I know you don't feel good. rest up!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I hope your discomfort and pain ends quickly!! I experienced the full fury of Covid as it was before the vaccine was available.
ReplyDeleteOh Linda, I'm so sorry. I'm not sure which is worse -- though I've not had either. But I remember Rick's kidney stone issues and it was awful. I'm glad you went to the hospital and just didn't take a second covid test, test positive and let it ride. Hopefully they gave you meds for nausea and pain and if it keeps on and doesn't go soon, so get the surgery. Rick said the effect was almost immediate. Do take care, my friend. And do watch the Covid carefully -- there are some effective treatments out there.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear of your double pain, Linda. I hope it all passes soon and you are back to your wonderful self!🙏🙏🙏
