Wow, it's Christmas time once again. It’s time for the Tales of the Traveling Tote. I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. Paul and I are usually home bodies. We have been busy with projects. In October we did fly into Seattle for a wedding. We stayed at a lovely boutique hotel called Hotel Ballard.
It is located in the Maritime neighborhood known for buzzing eateries & bars, plus waterfront parks like Ballard Locks.
Paul took this photo of me in the elevator. The wallpaper was lovely. It felt and looked like velvet.
Ballard has lots of restaurants. We tried different places for breakfast and lunch.
Miss Lola made the rounds at the Farmer's market, shoreline, Chulily and the hotel.
Katrine and Matt. A small wedding for family and friends. Matt is Paul's nephew. The couple rented a Airbnb so the family and friends could gather for Friday and Saturday night dinner. They brought in local food.
We visited the Chihuly Garden and Glass and also admired the Space Needle.
Seattle’s Space Needle has dominated the city’s skyline and fascinated visitors for well over half a century. This was my very first visit to Seattle.
So many amazing piece to admire.
I hope you visit these tote gals to see where their travels took them, whether near or far. Make sure to leave a comment on my blog for a chance to win this darling key tag.

I loved Seattle, especially Chihuly Gardens - My mom worked with Dale Chihuly years ago at RISD. We have a huge piece of his work locally and I am in awe every time I see it. I love that Paul posed with your tote! And that's a cute pic of you in the elevator. Seattle is a place I would like to visit again as there is so much to do there. Have a wonderful holiday season!
ReplyDeleteLinda, estás guapísima, supongo que fue una bonita celebración que os unió a toda la familia, ¡qué estupendo!, pero bueno tu marido no se queda atrás el también estaba sensacional. Un besote
ReplyDeleteShowing a bride and Chihuly in one post is like WAY too much glorious beautiful for these eyes to take in! The photos are fabulous and it looks like you had a magnificent time. Well, who wouldn't? What a lovely couple and great fun!
ReplyDeleteLinda, such a darling boutique hotel for your trip to Seattle. Cute pic of you in the elevator too. The wedding sounds wonderful with time for you and Paul to enjoy being with family. Jim and I went to Seattle with the Quimper Club International a few years ago. We toured Chihuly Glass and gardens. Your photographs are beautiful. Happy December Linda.......
ReplyDeleteHave not been to the Northwest. Perhaps I will travel there someday. I see the beauty of the area and what a great place to relax and enjoy. I have seen some Chihuly when in the Chicago area over 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh the hotel looked so amazing. Weddings are the best especially when it is small and intimate with family and friends. Lovely couple. I love those boutique hotels and my dear you looked stunning as always. Have fun as we slide on down into the holidays. xoxo Kris
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had an amazing time. Love that wallpaper
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas
What a wonderful trip, Linda! We've never been to Seattle, yet I would still love to take in its notable destinations like you & Paul have. It's so nice that you were able to make that your agenda while at the family wedding. The pictures are great. We did see the traveling Chihuly exhibit in Atlanta, but it's just not the same, I'm sure. Tell Paul he wears Miss Lola well. ;) Happy December to you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you made the most of your trip. Don't you just love it when the wallpaper coordinates with your tote! I have similar photos 😁
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute in the elevator photo. I can see why you loved the boutique hotel so much because it's definitely your style! The pics of all the Chihuly glass are amazing. There is a small collection of it at Auburn University's Jule Collins Smith Museum, and they're quite large and stunning! The bride and groom are a lovely couple, and all the photos of you, Paul, and Miss Lola are cute! I can tell y'all had fun. I hope you have a blessed Advent and Christmas season!

We are hoping to get there in 2023, fingers crossed. The pictures from the family wedding are great. BTW, you look stunning in the elevator and Paul and Miss Lola look fabulous too. Merry December!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely trip to Seattle, I have never been to Seattle so it was nice hearing about it. The Chihuly glass is truly amazing, I'm sure it's incredible to see in person! Paul looks so handsome in his suit, and how nice to enjoy family time at the wedding. The bed in your hotel is amazing, it must have been a luxurious place to stay! Great photos of you as always, so glad you were able to get away from your projects for a few days and relax! Happy December Linda!

ReplyDeleteHaha I love, love, love Paul posing with your tote! That is the best!!! What a beautiful boutique hotel to stay in. It sounds like a lovely place. Kirk's family is still in Seattle. We need to get up there again one of these days. I have never visited the Chihuly gardens though and would love to see that. Yes, December always comes and goes too quickly. We are in full swing here and loving it. Have a glorious December.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful getaway, Linda. You and your hubby make a smashing couple. We don't often see pictures of him and he is very handsome. How nice to enjoy a small wedding. Some of the best weddings I have attended have been small intimate affairs.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy every moment of the lead up to Christmas and am looking forward to seeing where the traveling tote goes next time! xo Diana
My husband and I recently purchased a car from you and Paul. I felt like the car needed a name. I named her Lola. I never read your blog until now. I was surprised to see that your tote is also called Lola! Happy Holidays to you and Paul!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that? I love the name, Lola. I was sitting in Applebees years ago, before the Traveling Tote. The restaurant waitress name was Lola. That is how ai named my tote. I hope you are happy with the Mercedes’, Lola. Happy Holidays.
DeleteThat looks like such a fun trip!! What a lovely hotel. Wishing the couple all the best.
ReplyDeleteWith such a fun and special keychain how could I ever misplace my keys again? Thanks for the give a way and thanks for sharing your Tales of the Traveling Tote in Seattle
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun getaway! I missed the Chihuly exhibit when it was in NYC. I've never been to Seattle (only the airport), and I'd love to visit.
