A Whale Of a Good Time

I set a table down by our pool in anticipation of celebrating  the 4th of July early.  My granddaughter and family are coming for a visit. The pool area is so popular with the kids, in addition to the sand volleyball court. There are horseshoe pits, corn hole and those Sumo bumper balls.

I will definitely be sharing the fun activities in another post.
Red, white and blue set the stage for this Patriotic tablescape. I thought using my Mackenzie Childs Big Blue Check whale would be perfect with the stripes.  It makes a perfect planter. The cute little plates match.

I bought everything on sale last year.
The flags from the DT makes perfect placemats.

The star napkins are bundles with patriotic beads also from the Dollar Tree. Red, White and Boom star napkins are a fun addition.

I am disappointed in the flowers.  I must have gone to 4 stores in search of pretty patriotic flowers.  I really wanted blue hydrangeas.  No such luck! I ended up plopping some potted florals in the planter.
I found two of these red, white and blue pots at Ross, a real bargain.  Red roses and a large tinted rose for the centerpiece.

I also decked out the hutch my husband built. I need to touch up the mermaid due to fading.
A view of the table under the palalpa.

  1. Three cheers for the red, white and blue Linda! Love all your festive décor on your table and hutch to celebrate the stars and stripes. Your MKC whale planter makes the perfect planter, it would make a fun beverage chiller too Great minds shop alike, I bought the same rocket party favors at HomeGoods. 😊 I had to chuckle at your ‘pool boy’ button on your post of the palalpa. Wishing you and your family a whale of good time on the Fourth.
