Paul and I spent two weeks in Kauai. I also invited a girlfriend to go along. We have s timeshare and travel there every other year. We didn't go during Covid. We stay in Poipu, the sunniest part of the island. We had a wonderful time. It was great to get away and relax, although I missed my dogs.
I snapped a photo of Miss Lola and the courtly check mug from our balcony.
We shopped while visiting the Grand Hyatt Resort. Miss Lola couldn't resist take a photo with this magnificent octopus table. The store is Martin & MacArthur. The artist is Chris Barela.
We also shopped the fun shoe store where they had this high heel chair. June, my girlfriend said it looks perfect for me, since I love leopard print. Miss Lola had to have her photo taken in it.
We always visit Makauwahi Cave. It is an hidden gem. Close by is the the tortoise Sanctuary.
We also visited the Trading Post. We were disappointed they downsized and cut their inventory in half.
Paul bought a beautiful Tahitian pearl necklace on a previous trip. Another trip he purchased a matching ring.
While visiting the Trading Post, I saw this truck all covered in artificial turf.

April
we celebrated my birthday by going out to dinner with our friend's Jim and June. It was a surprise. My friend Karen also arranged a surprise Birthday breakfast at Pottery World with 3 girlfriends.
May
Paul and I were invited to a garden tour and an alfresco lunch at Jain and Scott's house. Jain's blog is A Quiet Life. They live about 15 minutes from us. I cannot tell you how gorgeous their gardens are.
Jain decorated this sitting area with yellow and white, a bee theme.
We all enjoyed some champagne while admiring the gorgeous roses.
Over three hundred roses, plus clematis, peonies, lady bank roses and more.
Gorgeous roses galore.
There was plenty of places to snap a photo of my tote, Miss Lola.We cannot forget about Jain's pride and joy, the bearded iris.
Jain also have a magnificent Bearded Iris garden. So many varieties. Each one is planted with love. The great thing about the iris is, they multiply.
To see more of Jain's garden, please visit her blog. A Quiet Life

ReplyDeleteYou celebrated your birthday in style. What a nice Hawaiian trip! Your friend Jain's garden is absolutely a dream. Her rose garden is beyond beautiful! I am unfamiliar with her blog, but I will visit and tell her you sent me! I adore how she decorated the sitting area with the bee and rose theme...it is stunning! Did you enjoy Paint and Sip? We had one near us, and I think they're fun.

ReplyDeleteSOS to Guardian Angel Linda from racheld of long-ago LAWN TEA blog: I've been away from blogging for several years, due to grave illness and a death in the family, and cannot get back in/cannot remember steps to enter BLOGGER. I'd like to purchase whatever package from your talented hands that will give access to write at LAWN TEA again, or at least enable comments, for there's been a new stream of folks somehow lately, and they're commenting on the old posts, but I cannot enable, so I cannot see nor thank them. You've always been so gracious and admired for all your blogging talents, I hope you can help me---thank you SO MUCH. ganjin042@gmail.com
