Welcome to another The Tales of The Traveling Tote. The Traveling tote is 10 ladies who share their adventures four times a year plus a Mackenzie Childs giveway!
We have had some rain lately from hurricane Hilary. Fall is around the corner. I see Halloween decor in the stores already.
Since Paul and I haven't traveled lately, I have created a post about our previous adventures.
I have broken these posts up, so they aren't too long. I thought some of my readers would also like to how I came to join the group, The Travels of The Traveling Tote.
Blasts From The Past!
I will start with my first post after Debbie, from Mountain Breaths asked me to join this fun group. That was June of 2017. I have never been to Carmel or Monterey and that is mind boggling since I was born and raised in California. Paul and I visited Monterey. We stayed in a lovely hotel and also visited the Monterey Aquarium. It is beautiful. We spent some time in Carmel as well. Miss Lola and our cocktails.
The aquarium was magical and so fun to see the colorful fish and other sea creatures.

As a group, we all decided to create a tablescape with our totes. I thought red would look great with the Courtly Check Mackenzie Child's pattern. Miss Lola was filled with res roses and gladiolas.
Miss Lola visiting Claude Chana, the first prospector who found gold in the Auburn Ravine in 1848. This post is all about the town we live in, Auburn. A gold mine town.
In the fall of 2017, Paul and I traveled to NYC to meet some of the Traveling Tote gals and their husbands. What a fun trip. To actually meet fellow bloggers and tote ladies was amazing! We met for lunch at the fabulous Russian Tea Room. Unfortunately not all the ladies were able to attend. They were missed! We enjoyed a fabulous lunch.
After we had a fabulous brunch, we were invited to go upstairs and take in the fabulous 9 foot tall acrylic bear aquarium with fish.
Patti, Sarah, Emily, Debbie, me and Linda G. in front of the iconic restaurant. with our courtly check totes.
Paul and I visited a local winery for a tour and wine tasting.
Our trip began with visiting our good friends who owned a second home in Pensacola, Florida.
Our friends suggested that we visit the local fish market in Pensacola.
Here I am sitting in the cable car ready for another adventure in New Orleans. We dined at wonderful restaurants and explored the shops.
In 2018, Paul and I visited the local Crystal Hermitage Chapel & Gardens. A place of Peace, Meditation & Beauty. It's about an hour from us.
Here's a video below.

A fun look back at your travels with your tote Linda! Your tote in Claude Chana’s gold pan really puts the statue’s size in perspective. I know you girls had fun meeting up in NYC.
ReplyDeleteHappy September 🧡
Linda, how fun to look back at your blast from the past! I am now dreaming of a trip to Carmel and Monterey! I enjoyed seeing the NYC trip pics, it certainly brings back fun memories of that trip. The aquarium pic is so beautiful, I'm sure you and Paul enjoyed seeing this. New Orleans is a fun destination too and I love the old cable cars. Crystal Hermitage Chapel & Gardens would be on my must see list if I ever get back to CA! Happy September Linda.......
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time. Your aquarium photos brought back fun memories of my visit there but I think the piece de resistance was your Tote gathering in the Big Apple! How fun to be with your fellow "toters" and I just loved the photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun round-up post! I had no idea that Auburn is a a gold rush town. I love that picture of Miss Lola on the statue. I am so jealous I didn't get to go on the New York trip. I hope that we can plan a trip soon....I want to meet all of y'all! I also love visiting Pensacola and New Orleans. Cute photo of you on the streetcar! Happy fall! :D
ReplyDeleteWow what a great time you have had with Miss Lola. The aquarium pictures are beautiful. Glad you had a fabulous time in New York. On my bucket list. Have a great Labor Day Weekend. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteLinda, a look back always delights. Our trip to NY to meet up for the weekend will long be a favorite for me. We certainly had a good time! Thanks for sharing this look back.
ReplyDeleteI also love seeing snippets of your other trips, all favorite place for me too. San Francisco was one of our favorite destinations when Monnie was working and had frequently business trips to CA. Happy September!
It's so fun looking back to previous adventures! That trip to NYC and lunching at the Russian Tea Room with fellow toters must have been incredible~ I am so lucky that I live close to Emily and Ricki Jill and that we can get together. You and your tote have been to so many wonderful places, Happy September and here's to more adventures this Fall!

So nice that you get to see all these wonderful places altho I don't know why you would ever leave your beautiful home..Have a good Labor Day weekend..
ReplyDeleteA fun look back at your travels with your tote Linda! Our meetup in NYC was very special, and I hope we can all get together at least one more time. I have enjoyed time in Carmel, Monterey and New Orleans but didn't have a tote at the time LOL. Great photos of you and Miss Lola! Have a great Labor Day weekend.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to look back at old posts.....NYC was a fabulous weekend and I am so happy we were able to meet in person - great memories! As for traveling, you have the perfect spot right at home in your lovely oasis!!
ReplyDeleteOh how much fun looking back, you have had some wonderful travels and hook ups! Loads of fun to enjoy here 😁
ReplyDeleteI still think your trip to NYC was the absolute most amazing! I love all of the totes lined up by the crystal bear! What an adventure. So glad you were invited, because you and Sarah invited me and it has been a great adventure - all over the world!
ReplyDeleteYou and Miss Lola certainly have had quite a few adventures. It always looks like a fun group! I love the Russian Tea Room pictures. I've never been and it was fun to peek inside!
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice seeing pictures of your some of your previous escapades with Miss Lola, Linda! How fun for you ladies to meet in NYC!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your recap stories, Linda! I think I joined in 2015, but cannot for the life of me remember tablescaping with our tote, lol (note to self - search my own blog). I love the quaint locations you & Paul choose to visit, that's right up our alley, too, although the NYC trip with the tote tribe sure was special. But as you showed, there's really no place like home, and your town of Auburn certainly has a storied past. Happy September. Here's to many more tales!
ReplyDeleteSuch fun blasts from the past!
