Singin In The Rain!

Jain from A Quiet Life Blog and I decided to create a blog post on Leap Year day.
Since we all know frogs leap, it's a perfect way to celebrate. We are getting lots of rain. We are suppose to get a cold front today.
I created this fun table with umbrellas and frogs. I love hearing our frogs in chorus at night.  Singin' in the rain is a wonderful title for this post. I know many of us remember the movie with Gene Kelly dancing and singing in the rain.  It is impossible to watch this video without a smile.😀
A leap year takes place roughly estimated every four years. Did you know that without Leap Days we could see summer shift to, say, the middle of November? This extra day is added to the calendar some years as a way of keeping our yearly schedule aligned with Earth’s orbit in space.

The plate stack consists of Crown Line Design's Black checkered placemat, Pier 1 white wooden plate charger, Horchow's  Bumble Bee plate, MKC Courtly Check dinner plate and Cracker Barrel's check plate. Since I did not have any frog plates, I printed out a mini Fergal the frog and slipped it under a clear glass   plate.
Fergal the Frog Prince is the star of this table.
When Paul and I visited Green Acres Nursery, we purchased these cute little  goofy faced frogs.  They sit perfectly inside my black candle holders.  I added green and black pebbles and an umbrella.

The flatware is Mackenzie's Child Black Tie.

While at the nursery, we also purchased these pretty yellow primrose to go with my color theme. The little frogs  are from the Dollar Tree.

Here are a few other Fergal the Frog Prince blog posts.

  1. Such a fun table with your black and white, cheery pops of yellow and frogs Linda! Love your plate stack, your printed ‘Fergals’ under glass, and all the umbrellas hanging from your chandy too. I ‘leapt’ over to visit Jain but she wasn’t live yet. Happy Leap Day 🐸

  3. What a fun table, Linda. Leave it to you to celebrate something that is usually not celebrated. It made me smile. I am propped up in bed with coffee and my laptop and when I played the frog video, Scruffy woke up and looked around like, "What? What? What is that?"...made me smile.
Have a wonderful Leap Year Day. xo Diana

The umbrellas are the perfect touch, you outdid yourself as usual, would like to touch them all! Love the plate stack, twins on chargers. The golden touches are wonderful, adore your printout frog but two favorites stand out for me the heart and rain boot frogs. So glad you joined me to celebrate leap day, long live frogs!

  14. What a fun idea to celebrate Leap Day! Your stack is fabulous, Linda. Creating your own Fergal the Frog plates is a clever idea. I don't have Fergal, but I do have a few of the MKC frogs. They are fun with personality! The umbrellas over the table add a fun dimension to this scape. Great Job!
