These iris would not be possible if Jain from @aquietlifeblog had not given the bulbs to me.
I am so thankful for our friendship and her generosity. The blooms are gorgeous. Thank you Jain.
The video below is from Instagram. I created a fun video with our special day. Jain hosted a lovely lunch for Tammie @crazy4iris and myself. We toured Jain's gardens and enjoyed a nice conversation over a fabulous lunch. Tammie and Jain have chatted online for a few years. When Tammie was in the area, Jain invited her over for a garden tour.

I really enjoyed seeing your irises and the short clip, Linda. Irises are my favorite flower, and sharing passalongs is a gardener's delight. The majority of my passalong irises are from a former housekeeper, and she called me yesterday, saying she thought of me when she looked out her window and saw her irises blooming. She is 76, and they came from her grandmother originally. I love how gardens can connect us.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Linda. Hugs Kris

ReplyDeleteYour iris blooms are gorgeous! Ours are a long way out, probably another month at least! I've got some of your same iris bloomers, and the rich colors are just amazing to see! What a wonderful time to enjoy at Jain's garden, just glorious!
ReplyDeleteThose are such beautiful flowers Linda. How wonderful to have your blog friend gift the bulbs to you. I hope you have a nice week Linda.
ReplyDeleteWhen we lived in Kansas, many considered iris a weed flower (they called them flags) and would cut them down. I always liked them and loved that they would just come back up since they are bulbs. I used to order from an iris farm and had huge pink iris ...also yellow, white and cinnamon color. I miss them. Can't grow them in Florida. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
