Tale of The Traveling Tote #39

Hello friends, time for another Tales of The Traveling Tote adventure and Giveaway. Quarterly, a group of us tote gals share a connected post about the places we have been. We have made some wonderful friendships and some of us have met in person.  We hope you find our posts as fun as we do. You can find more about the Giveaway at the bottom of this post. To read how this group began, you can read HERE.
This is a long post!

March we laid low and did not go anywhere. Some flowers were starting to bloom and it was so fun to watch them open up and gift us with some much needed color.
April, we celebrated my birthday with close friends, Jain from A Quiet Life Blog and her husband Scott.
Jain had surprised me with a lovely setting in her Lion's garden with champagne and gifts.

My husband made reservations at the Hotel Exchange for brunch. April 1st.

The day after my birthday, two girlfriends planned a Birthday luncheon for me at a lovely restaurant.
The best gift of all is the gift of special friendships.   Most of the ladies who attended my birthday are former cloggers. thus The Traveling Shoes.

In April, my husband and I visited Cabo to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
We spent a week at Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes.  It was a beautiful resort with numerous pools and poolside cabanas.
The Grand Solmar Pacific Dunes resort is so beautiful. It is located on the beach.  The beach is not safe for swimming. They have 7 restaurants with plenty of poolside service.

Miss Checks tagged along on this trip, so I put her to good use posting with this guy with a sombrero.

The resort was 30 minutes from town, so we took the shuttle and an Uber back.
When we first arrived in Cabo, Paul and I hopped onto a bicycle taxi. We walked a lot and took in the sights plus enjoyed some authentic Mexican food.
Paul and I posing with some fun characters around Cabo.

Ok, one of the best things on this trip is meeting my fellow tote gal Jackie from Purple Chocolat Home
Jackie and I have always called each our "Soul Sister." It was a pleasure meeting Jackie and her husband Kirk. Z long awaited dream to meet Jackie. We showed them around the resort and then we were off to see their amazing home.

They made us feel so welcome.  They even picked us up one evening.  They took Paul and I to their Amazing home above Cabo. I cannot put into words the beautiful home they built with incredible views.  The house is full of bling, which I love.  It was a pinch me moment.
This photo was taken at Jackie and Kirk's house in Cabo. You can see a glimpse at how gorgeous their home is.
Jackie and I in her kitchen. So fun!  The people at the desk at our resort thought we were sisters.
Before going to the restaurant, Kirk and Jackie gifted us with hats with their Cabo home name , Casa Joya Del Mar.

After viewing their gorgeous home, they treated Paul and I to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants, Don Miquel at the Waldorf Astoria.
It was an incredible evening. We felt very comfortable and we shared stories on how we met our husbands. We had great conversation during dinner. We totally enjoyed a lovely dinner of  watermelon salad and lobster. We were then treated to a delicious dessert in honor of our anniversary.

Our dinner was their treat for our anniversary.  Beautiful views and ambiance galore. After dinner and dessert, we were treated to some magnificent fireworks right on the beach.
A lovely trip all in all and a special treat meeting my soul sister Jackie.  Below is a video I created of the resort.  Just click it to start.

I have had so much fun in the last few months.  I am looking forward to some summer fun. I hope you visit the other tote gals to see where their travels took them. To enter the drawing for this "To Go Tote", leave a comment on Emily's blog.

  3. A huge WOW, Linda! I was aware of your birthday treats by Jain and your blogger friends, but had no idea you met Jackie & Kirk in Cabo! How fantastic, and yes, you definitely could pass as sisters. When you mentioned Cabo, I thought, "oh, that's where Jackie has her home". Just fantastic travels overall, and the chance to meet a fellow tote traveler this year, and beautiful timing of enjoying your spring gardens earlier. Love this post!

  13. I'm not surprised that your birthday was so fabulous but I'm thrilled that it was. Honestly, the fact that you were celebrated and feted not only by your dear husband but by so many friends tells me so much about you and how much you are loved. This is just wonderful.

  15. Linda, what fun times for both your birthday and your 25th wedding anniversary. Congratulations!!! Cabo looks amazing, both your resort and Jackie and Kurt's gorgeous home. Aren't we lucky to have met Jackie and Kurt in person. They are the dearest couple, as are Jackie's sister and brother-in-law. How special to finally meet in person after all these years of blogging friendships. I enjoyed your wonderful post and great photos.

  21. It is so fun to see all of your resort pictures too! Not only were we soul sisters on the blog, but in person. Paul was such a delight too. It was a highlight of our trip getting to spend time with both of you! I am a little late in getting around because Kirk's dad passed away and we had the funeral Friday and the lunch afterwards was at our house. Life always throws things at you!
