It's been so hot lately, it's difficult to really set a table. outdoors. We had one day that cooled a little so I set a Tommy Bahama inspired table under our palapa. Tommy Bahama style is about a relaxed island feel with warm vibes. I feel like our pool area is our very own paradise.
On a recent trip to Home Goods, I spotted these fun colorful Tommy Bahama plates, bowl and palm leaf dishes. They are so colorful with palm trees, flowers and leaves.
I found these fun tropical looking placemats at Target. The palm tree napkins were paired with bright orange napkins to coordinate with the plates. To tie in with the green, I added green plate chargers. The napkin rings are woven rattan. How about a lovely shrimp cocktail as an appetizer? On Tommy Bahamas website, they have such wonderful recipes. This one is called Captiva Shrimp Cocktail.
The centerpiece is a simple Tommy Bahama bowl of fruit, including a pineapple, coconuts, flowers and mangos.
My latest purchase is this table rod. I bought it on Temu which is basically the same things they sell on amazon, but for less.
I kept a few of the monkeys up. because they are so cute. I added vines from our trumpet vine plant.

I hope you are staying cool. I have been in the pool a lot, along with my two fur babies. They don't like to swim, however I dunk them in to keep them cool.

Linda, I love your tropical Tommy Bahama table! It is perfect for your hot days. I have been wanting a table rod for a few years. Yours adds the perfect tropical ambiance. The pool must get a lot of use on those scorching hot days. Happy Summer and stay cool!
ReplyDeleteThat table rod is a very neat addition -- it will open up so many decorating possibilities for above the table itself!
ReplyDeleteWHAT FUN! I love Tommy Bahama and John used to wear his shirts when we were in Florida. I have a few pieces by him and my favorite everyday shoes are Tommy Bahama. You did a wonderful job-very festive tablescape! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI bet you are so glad to have the pool with the heat. The table is gorgeous. Have a great rest of the week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteLove it all, and the pool is wonderful to have with the high temperatures.
ReplyDeleteLove your Tommy Bahama theme, Linda! It is quite pretty! I have never heard of a table stand or maybe never paid attention to one, but yours is adorable! I'm glad you mentioned that Temu sells some of the same items as Amazon but cheaper. I've been telling critics of Temu the same thing! I order lots of craft items from them and have no complaints except that it takes longer to arrive. Have a great week and stay cool and safe! It's hot everywhere!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely summer-tablescape!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day, dear Linda!
Love and hugs, Claudia xx
