Tales of The Traveling Tote #40

Welcome to another adventure of  The Tales of the Traveling Tote.  We are a group of women who share our adventures with our named  Mackenzie Child's tote whether far or near. Since Paul and I haven't traveled, we decided to visit some local places along with Miss Lola.

Happy Labor Day Weekend.
This summer has been hot and miserable. I am so ready for some cooler temps. We entertained grandkids early on before the temperatures reached over 100.

My husband and I decided to visit High Hand Nursery. It is such a lovely nursery with lots of goodies to please anyone.  Beautiful plants, flowers and trees, a cafe to enjoy a lovely meal, The sheds are filled with an art gallery, an olive oil store, a new brewery, pottery, gifts plus entertainment.
Miss Lola loves visiting here. Just look at all of the beautiful variety of greenery and flowers below.

The koi are always hungry and follow when someone steps closer.  Miss Lola decided to have her photo with the koi.
High Hand has a lovely cafe with an outdoor pizza oven. They serve brunch on the weekend. The front of the building they sell canned fruit.
They offer a wide variety of pretty pottery too.
All around the property, there are lots of antiques.  They use the old trucks for display purposes.

They added a large brewery with beer wine and delicious cocktails plus some delicious food to entice anyone.

Another moment inside the shed.

Paul and I also visited Pottery world, one of my favorite stores. They have a large collection of fountains, pottery and art.  Inside, they have furniture, a boutique, florals and plenty of decor, plus a wonderful cafe for dining.
Right now, they are showing their fall decor and Halloween.
Such a pretty table with that huge turkey and lovely place settings.

The pumpkins are so cute and funny.
How about a skeleton witch?
The moment you walk in the door, you are greeted with this creepy guy.
Two large skeletons are dancing and surrounded by white  carved pumpkins with different expressions.
Miss Lola is hanging with some boo ghosts.

Thank you for visiting. Be sure to visit Jenna's blog, The Painted Apron for a chance of winning this wonderful Mackenzie Child's tote.

  1. Beautiful nursery in your blog. I have a friend who also lives in California and the nurseries anywhere out there look wonderful especially compared to other states. Great choices of plants too!

  10. we used to have several high-end nurseries here. I think there’s only one left. I love yours and thanks for taking us a lot. It’s always fun to explore different places with miss Lola.. I don’t think you told us if you bought anything. How could you not? Looks like the kids had a good time. They grow up so fast. Enjoy your weekend.

  14. It is amazing to have literally watched your great grands grow up the last 10 years, Linda! I know they must love coming to your 'resort'! High Hand looks like a beautifully designed nursery oasis to get lots of inspiration. I would love a place like that. And Pottery World is definitely a place where temptation abounds! You & I have both said how much we're looking forward to fall. I can't wait to see what's inspiring you this fall. The tablescape last week was a beautiful preview. Happy September to you & Miss Lola!

  17. Linda, I always enjoy your outings, and the photos of your property are always inviting and fabulous! So fun for the grands! The koi are beautiful! There was a koi pond at the wedding venue hotel in Aptos. From the size of each one, I'd say they have lived there a long time. I wish I had a pond. All the Halloween and turkey decor has me ready for fall holidays. If only some cool weather would come our way. Happy September!

  18. Pottery World looks like loads of fun: I am inspired for fall just reading your post! Do you purchase your fun Halloween props from them? I always enjoy seeing your Halloween posts. High-Hand Nursery sounds like such an interesting place. Do you ever sample/purchase their olive oils? I went to an olive oil tasting not to long ago, trying to learn more about the types and what works best depending on how you're using it. Happy fall!
