My tablescape started with the Mackenzie Childs' Fortune Teller. I bought her last year on sale.
Remember the story of Cassandra, was a Trojan priestess dedicated to the god Apollo and fated by him to utter true prophecies but never to be believed. In modern usage her name is employed as a rhetorical device to indicate a person whose accurate prophecies, generally of impending disaster, are not believed. Have you ever had your fortune told?
Layering in different psychic elements makes this table fun.
Ever try to take a photo when there is a mirror and not show yourself?
The seeing hand makes a fun napkin for this theme.
Fortune telling can be interpreted in different ways, whether it's Tarot cards, crystal balls, palm reading, etc. My plate stack sits on a mystic table runner with lavender plate chargers, Mackenzie child's Courtly Check dinner plate and lavender and gold dessert plates. I am using a glass clear plate on top with a graphic of a crystal ball.
Fortune teller handbooks are a wonderful party favor filled with goodies.
I hope you are all enjoying this Halloween week. I will finish this Halloween with one more tablescape. I have another dinner party planned for Wednesday night, so stay tuned.

Linda your fortune teller is super cool. The whole table is wonderful. I am telling you all your table scapes should be in a book. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteHow marvelous, I love this! Such attention to detail. I especially like those criss-crossed mystic table runners and the whimsy of the crystal ball drinking glasses. Yes, I've had my fortune told by various methods over the years -- tea leaves, palmistry, tarot, witch's stones, etc. And of course I have been reading tarot myself now for 30 years.
