Welcome friends, for the Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop, I decided to set a "Nutcracker" themed table. A big thank you to Rita from Panoply for organizing this blog hop. You will a total of 15 Christmas tables for your viewing pleasure. The links to the other talented tablescapers are at the bottom of this post.
"The Nutcracker" ballet has been a favorite holiday tradition for over 125 years. Numerous ballet companies around the world showcase the famous ballet every December.
Aspiring ballerinas hope to have the honor to dance on stage to the music of "The Nutcracker Suite." "The Nutcracker" ballet was written during the classical period of ballet, a time when many famous ballets were being written and performed. "The Nutcracker" is based on the book "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King," by E.T.A. Hoffmann, and an interpretation of Hoffman's story written by Alexandre Dumas.
My nutcracker themed tablescape started with this beautiful ballerina cake stand by Katherine's Collection - Glorious Tidings. I wanted to create a snow globe on top of it with 4 characters from the Nutcracker ballet.
To achieve the snow globe look, I purchased a 12 inch bubble bowl from Michaels and turned it upside down. and added it to my cake stand. I then added faux snow, fairy lights and my 4 characters. On top I added a gold rings, more snow and a snowflake. I also added a white charger plate.
The nutcracker plates are a lovely find at Neiman Marcus. I paired them with my Grace's Teaware Josephine Red dinner plates and white plate chargers from Pier1 years ago. They sit on a placemat of faux cedar.
This is our Breakfast room all decked out for Christmas.I ordered these adorable nutcracker napkins from Etsy.
The lovely red, white and green doily my Mother crocheted. A wonderful keepsake. It makes a beautiful display for my Nutcracker Snowe Globe.
The red and gold goblets are perfect with my red rosette tablecloth.

ReplyDeleteLinda, I am wowed over your nutcracker tablescape. Of course, you might have already seen from the list of bloggers that I, too, decided to use nutcrackers as a theme. However, I can truly say your nutcracker themed tablescape is by far so much more elegant and exqusite. I love how you captured the charm and fantasy of the story with your snow globe. Your elegant napkins and your beautiful plate stack is taken right from a storybook. I was so captured by the red and white plates and the nutcracker plate surrounding by berries and greenery. It had me speechless! And if that wasn't enough, I fell in love with your extra large nutcracker server. It was hard to deny that I wanted one myself. I can just imagine it holding a big chocolate cake. Your table is above and beyond what my imagination could have dreamed up. So incredibly creative, Linda. It is one of my favorites for Christmas. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is so festive, and I love The Nutcracker theme! I love the snow globe centerpiece displayed on the ballerina cake stand best. I also like the hanging snowflakes as a nod to the snow globe. I also like the detailed napkins. Your breakfast room is adorable, Linda. I know your family will absolutely love this table!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! I love your nutcracker themed table, it is charming. Your snow globe turned out beautiful and is the perfect centerpiece on the lovely doily made by your mother. The Neiman Marcus nutcracker plates would delight my granddaughters…they just danced in the Nutcracker Princess. They did a great job and the performance was so sweet. I have a collection of Steinbach nutcrackers that I have collected over the years and enjoy displaying them at Christmas, Your details are spot on for the Nutcracker theme. Wishing you a Merry Christmas season!
